Albion fan here and in my opinion your the best team we have seen down the albion this season, i believe if your players can cope with the pressure now your in the top for the rest of the season you should be champions, i don't rate newcastle at all we have outplayed them 3 times this season so I'm hoping we can still sneak in the top ;D would like to hear your views on the albion? also your team and the rest of the season, who will go up etc and also who will get victor moses?

I've seen Albion in both games against us and to be honest, wasn't that impressed on the whole - although Dorrans stands out as a real talent. I thought you were better at the City Ground than The Hawthornes against us but - without bitterness - thought we deserved to win both games, so the first one was a bit of kick in the guts.

Having said that, the bits of spotted from the FL Show and on TV have shown that you can play good stuff and have done against other clubs.. so who knows?..

Still pinching myself as to where we find ourselves and how we're playing, and having had many bitter false dawns (though few as bright as this one) I can't help but await for the inevitable collapse lol

I have a WBA fan as a mate and he thinks Forest are a better team. So do I.

Thankyou it is clear the top 3 (+Cardiff in spurts)stand out from the rest and it's going to be an exciting and tense few months. I hope both of us make it up in the automatic promotion places rather than Newcastle but it's going to be one or the other I think. A major factor imo will rest on which one of us (if either at all) signs Victor Moses, he would enhance both of our squads greatly, giving us a massive boost in the process. I would be gutted if you signed him.

i agree that you were the better team in the 2 games against us, but i do think your players will feel the pressure towards the end of the season where our players have been there done it and we always have good ends to the season.
i do rate your goalkeeper though and i was also impressed by Cohen i think it is and 1 of your wingers not sure of his name.
i also believe someone like the villa or spurs will come in for moses last minute as they love young English talent and no brainer where he would go then, but if he has any sense he would come 2 either of us who he would have far more 1st team opportunity's and a chance of premiership football next year.

Anderson the winger? :)

We do have a young squad who haven't exactly much experience of challenging for promotion - so you could be right, but equally by exceeding expectations so much, it can work the other way and we could continue to play without fear - as we have done.

We've matched and bettered the best teams in this league already. But then, of course, we've had disappointing results against some less auspicious opponents too, so who knows?

I'm just enjoying the ride :)

Firstly the geordies have a team of players who have played in the premiership and a lot of internationals. Players like Smith, Butt, Gutirrez, Enrique, Nolan et al. So on there day they could out fox a lot of teams via their experiance alone, especially at home. However, when they come up against like us who have loads of hungry, quick, athletic players we could really take the game to them. I havnt really thought them to be a good team to watch but they do grind results out. With Routledge, he really could spark them into life. I still think that they are catchable though.

We have been a whirlwind and are playing the best football seen at the City ground for years. Even when we were playing this well with Paul Hart in charge we still didnt know how to grind out results. Most people on here have said they have never felt so positive being a red. Whether we can maintain this, is another matter, theres no reason we cant, but footballs a funny old game. We will lose again this season (as long as its not Saturday - please dont lose on Saturday). Its how we react to a defeat thats going to be key. We are still quite a young team, just hope King Billy keeps there heads grounded (no worries there!) when we win and when we lose.

I thought we were the better team against you at the CG. Earnie missed that peno. I think losing Greening was a big blow to you, he's quality in this league but like Winnets said - Dorrens looks a class act and Bednar and Miller are a handful, so youll definately be there or there abouts. I also think that Sheff Utd and Cardiff might make a late push.

Its just nice for us to be good again and the season has been unbelievable so far. If we do the double over the scum on Saturday we will be in dreamland.

Id rather you go up than the geordie bastards, however to be honest I think that they have a better chance even though they are least pretty team out of the three of us

Alright mate, I think you have a decent team especially Dorrans looks awesome, I also thought when Miller came on against us he looked bright saying how long he had been out and could help you alot in the run in.

I would prefer to see the Geordies collapse and then watch there big names flood back to the premier league with other clubs, and for you and us to go up, more the merrier from the east midlands ;) Also what are your thoughts on that centre back you signed, who dex full on pulled apart for our first against you!, he looks kinda dodgy to me!!

I think it's worth remembering our squad, young as some of them are, have played many games (Cohen for example has played 100+ just for Forest) have lost out in playoffs (and won in playoffs if you're Chris Cohen), gone on promotion winning runs and played international matches. They've got plenty of experience!

If West Brom's 'Plan B' for when their decent football of plan A wasn't working, they'd stand a good chance of jumping us and Newcastle over the season.

However, their current plan B seems to be foul play.

Alright pal.

Like a few others, I am waiting for the inevitable collapse of Forest this season, however, the longer this goes on, the more I begin to doubt if it actually is inevitable.

I didn't get to go to the Hawthorns to see us get the win, but I was at the City Ground when you did us 1-0. I felt we didn't deserve to lose that, but then, probably didn't deserve to win it either! We were very negative. I wasn't overawed by Albion I must say, however, your league position tells it's own story and indicates that you are a quality side.

I also would rather see Albion go up than Newcastle. It would do Newcastle no harm to linger down here a bit longer whilst WBA have a history of trying to play decent football, as have we. I'd also like Billy Davies and Di Matteo to get their chances managing in the Premier League (Davies' spell at Derby doesn't count!)

As for Voctor Moses, I am rapidly learning not to care. He'll go to a Premiership club, warm their bench, fade away (ala Francis Jeffers) and we'll move on to another transfer target. I don't think Albion or Forest will get him.

All the best for the season mate.

Most of our current squad were here last season for our scrap against relegation too - that carried probably as much pressure as fighting for promotion.

we are the better 1-3 at your place says it all tbh ?
but id rather go up with wba than newcastle tbh
dorrans is good ::)

This current team continues to suprise me. I must admit, that when Billy was appointed, I wasn't impressed, but I did expect him to fashion a side capable of efficiently grinding out results and leading us to mid-table safety.

To say I didn't expect a team that is not only capable of success, but also of doing it with a panache and style which hasn't been seen in these parts since Paul Hart was in charge, is quite frankly an understatement.

Long may it continue...

Nice to here your views, Anderson the winger, that's the one i was very impressed with.
I do hope we can get automatic promotion with you guys as you seem 2 play proper football not scrappy football like newcastle do.
If we can get some consistent home form going to add to our away form we should be fine, as long as we keep dorrans fit, he is amazing will be a top player at a top club in a few years no doubt, also we have 2 of our best players back now, Ishmael miller & James Morrison.
On the victor moses topic, we now seem very interested we are talking about selling a player now 2 fund the deal so looks promising for us at the moment, but i still expect him to go to the premiership.

Anderson's great, so much pace... acoording to his Wikipedia profile you lot let him slip right through your fingers:

"As a schoolboy he was attached to West Bromwich Albion but they declined to offer him a professional contract believing he would never make the grade".

Gutted! :D

I think it would be great if having been top for large part of season Newcastle missed out on automatic and lossed in the play-offs :D At least Sky could carry on their love fest with them

Dex took him off penno duty, not Billy :D

Earnie can be a Baggie as long as he still hates Derby.

Good luck for the season, you should remain more competitive than almost everyone else. How does this season at this point compare to previous times you've gone up?
