Depends. Midfield is too broad. We have wingers, holding midfielders, attacking midfielders, grafting midfielders.

Football is a team game, you are as strong as your weakest link in a team game - I don't hold with this 'who is the best' nonsense.

Assuming (touch wood) no injuries - come the end of the season I would expect Paul McKenna to have notched up the most appearances in midfield. Would that make him the best?

Well, Its like saying Ronaldo is real madrids best midfielder, Don't make things complicated ;D

I see your point though, But its kinda same with strikers these days, Earnshaw will get ya the most goals but others will do you better jobs at other things.. Who do you think would be the biggest miss? I guess that's your answer

On that basis, I had no option but to vote for McKenna. He's the midfield general we've been lacking for so long and, in my opinion, is the main reason why we're finally looking like a cohesive unit on the pitch.

had a conversation with 3 mates last nite about who's good an who's bad an we all disagreed on it, in the end we all jus agreed 2 disagree. Now in my opionion that is one of the beauty's of football

Majewski will become the best midfielder of this side (if he stays with us) but at the moment McKenna without a shadow of doubt for me.

Paul McKenna, just the type of player we have been missing for far too long.

Let's hope he stays healthy and can keep away from suspension(s)

A bit like asking me if I prefer chocolate, or drinking chocolate or chocolate spread. There'll all similar but different and are good for separate things. ::)

The only way I can select one player is to consider who we'd miss the most and, for the moment, that has to be Paul McKenna.

A great skipper who has the respect of the club, the players and the fans. He controls the game, calms things down, picks things up, passes intelligently, guides and motivates and gives us maturity and experience.

Let's stop this right now. I can see where it's going....

We've had 'Best Striker.'

Now we've got a thread on 'Best Midfielder.'

It's going to be 'Best Goalkeeper' soon. :( :( :( :( :ubique:
