Best 4 and Worst 4 Forest game in the Decade

Best:

Nottingham Forest 3-0 Derby County 19th March 2003

Demolised our Local rivals with a great team display

Sheffield United 4 Nottingham Forest 3 15th May 2003

Not the fairtail ending but the football that was played that night was so compelling to watch

Manchester City 0 Nottingham Forest 3 3rd January 2009

To beat money bags City 3-0 in that back yard was a great moment even though we were not given a cat in hells chance

Nottingham Forest 3 Yeovil Town 2 3rd May 2008

If we didn't win this game we wouldn't be where we are today because i didn't think we had the mentality to win the play-offs that season

Worst:

Wolves 3 Nottingham Forest 0 26th February 2000

Talk about being cheated Tony Vaughan was sent off along with Adi Akinbiyi for something only Steven Lodge will know. Also They was injured played down for Forest i think Beasant tells Michael Branch to put the ball out of play but Branch just ran with ball towards Forest goal and scored, Then Beasant is incensed with Branch so there is a melee because Branch wasn’t sporting.

Derby 3 Nottingham Forest 0 11th December 2004

Awful performance Joe Kinnear called this just another game; if it went wrong in this game it went wrong Tommy Smith scored early on Lester was stretchered off and we were outfought and out played for the whole 90 minutes, David Johnson was taken off for Gregor Robertson and the chants of “You don’t know what you doing” Kinnear resigned 6 days later.

Crystal Palace 1-0 Nottingham Forest 16th December 2003

Awful game and a horrible place to get to as well. Andy Johnson scored early on for them and we never had a shot on target all game. Wes Morgan was sent off too and we had strike force of Eion Jess and Gareth Taylor that day and Danny Sonner pulling the string made me feel sick watching this game.

Nottingham Forest 0 Plymouth Argyle 3 9th April 2005

We had to win this game to have any chance to stay up, Dexter Blackstock scored early on and that afternoon I witnessed the most disgusting performance in many years from a Forest team. Their was no quality and no passion to get us out the shit that afternoon and the most pivotal moment that afternoon was that most fans condemned us to relegation and the team lost all support from the fans. This was the last of the 3 games that included Crewe and Coventry in which we needed 9 point from the 3 very winnable games but after only getting a point at Crewe relegation was very much in our faces.

Please add your best 4 and Worst games of the decade.

I'd have Yeovil at home in the play-offs as one of the worst. Also Doncaster away in the season we went up where we lost 1-0.

The Yeovil game was poor in the playoffs, I was going to pick this one over the Palace game i went to but going Palace is renowned for being the worst ground to get to in this county, But when a team play like Forest did againest them in 2003 it makes the journey 10 times worst.

Please don't mention this game!!!!!! It totally broke my heart!!
I can never call myself a "lifetime supporter" or a "real fan" since I stopped caring for many years, mainly because of this game. It was just too much!
I'm surprised it was in 2000 actually, since I went once in 2001, but it took about 5 years to realize how much I missed football, and Forest.
The name Michael Branch... How I hate hearing it! Cheating bastard!! Beasant should've knocked him out...

THE BEST

Manchester City 0 Nottingham Forest 3 08/09

A day that offered us some rest bite from the drudgery of the league, against the richest club in the world with 6,000 forest fans in full voice from start to finish. Best (noise wise) away following I think i can ever remember being a part of, and I honestly think that the confidence that we gained that day (along with Billy's rather substantial influence obviously) was a major factor in keeping us up that year. The atmosphere underneath the stand at half time was absolutely increadible that day.

Nottingham Forest 5 Leicester City 1 09/10

I think this one easily has to go down as the best overall performance of at least the later part of the decade. Leicester are certainly no mugs and are where they are in the table on merit but we absolutely battered them from start to finish. The result was made even sweeter by having to sit on a train up to Nottingham in a carriage full of Leicester fans signing anti-Forest songs.

Nottingham Forest 3 Yeovil Town 2 07/08

Most important result of the decade. I couldn't be there to see it myself unfortunately, but nothing that has happened since then would have been possible if we hadn't have won that game and Cheltenham hadn't have done us a huge favour in beating Donny. In fact, I would hazard a guess and say that we'd probably still be there now.

Nottingham Forest 3 Derby County 0 02/03

An absolutely amazing night, albeit against a very poor Derby side but we absolutely tore them a new one. Goading John Gregory was a fantastic moment aswell.

Honourable mentions to Bristol City at home last season, with Blackstock's last minute winner, and Stoke at home when we demolished them 6-0 n 02/03, with Marlon scoring a four.

Overall though they were just plus points of what has been a throughly shit decade to be a forest fan, of which these were the worst moments for me:

THE WORST

Sheffield United 4 Nottingham Forest 3 02/03

What could have been? The biggest emotional rollercoater ride that I think i can ever remember. We were excellent for most of the game, and in all honesty I think we'd probably have struggled to have beaten Wolves in the play-off final but the memory of walking so utterly dejectedly down Bramall Lane out of the away end with thousands of jubilant Sheffield United fans jumping about celebrating all around me was hard to take. I'm too young to have seen Forest in a final, and I genuinely thought that my time had come when Reidy put us 2 up that day and I felt robbed.

Nottingham Forest 2 Yeovil Town 5

Probably the single most soul crushing experience of my life so far. We played against side who simply wanted it so much more than we did that day, and despite clapping the whole Yeovil team of the pitch that day, I felt robbed of my first day out at Wembley. I'm still waiting.

Nottingham Forest 0 Plymouth Argyle 3

This was our last chance to save ourselves with a vital game against fellow strugglers. Once again I remember leaving the ground absolutely heartbroken at the lack of guts on display from our side. The only time I've ever booed the team off and the chants of "Your not fit to wear the shirt", though widely condemed at the time by the media and the club, were absolutely justified.

Oldham Athletic 5 Nottingham Forest 0

Despite it being one of the best shows of support from us that I can remember (gallows humour et al) the simple lack of application that day was nothing short of disgusting, especially with the fans having travelled to the coldest ground in the world on New years day. That it later transpired that the players were as hungover as the rest of us!

There are numerous others as well.

3-0 at Home to Derby
4-0 at Home to Norwich a couple days later
5-1 at Home to Leicester this season.
3-2? at Home to Yeovil to get promotion.

Worst:

Coventry Away the season we went down (2-0?), forget what the maths say, that was the game we really got relelgated and not one player looked like he gave a shit.
Chester Away in the Cup
Various defeats to Derby that my brain won't allow me to recall individually.
