Bennett to Palace?

A rumour doing the rounds that he'll go south on loan for 6 months.

Would be a great move for him and potentially us.

Would be a good move, he's got to stay in this league really for us to know if he's up to it. Plus he could help us out by beating our rivals!

Interesting. I know Peterborough have made an enquiry (I don't at this stage know whether it was accepted or not), but obviously if we could get him Championship football before Jan, that would be preferable.

No wonder my post count..
Makes perfect sense this, although I'm surprised it's a championship club, thought it would be League 1 at the very most.

so everyone hates bennett now then and wants him out ?

It would be better for him to go to a lower league team as I think he would get more games and would build up fitness better.

Hardly. I think we all want to see him get back to match fitness and if he can do so elsewhere, it's less of a risk than throwing him back into our own team.

I can confirm this is happening. I know it sounds bad at the moment with all the Bulls**t threads, but I know someone at Palace who has said this rumour is true, and I believe him. From George Burley's mouth, apparently.

a move to championship club would obvously be a better move for him and it would decide if is capable in this league

Seems a bit odd really - if he's good enough for a mid-table Championship side then why isn't he fit enough for us? If he's seriously going to get first team football then okay but I suspect he'll be warming the bench. Surely a lower league loan would be a better option?

Not really. Billy doesn't consider him fit/sharp enough to be considered for first-team action with us. Palace are clearly a little bit more needy/prepared to take the risk.

Palace don't have a LB. He'll go there, play regularly for 6 months and then we can re-assess. Seems sensible to me.

fair enough i didn't know palace didn't have a left back, i suppose it will be a good chance for him to prove his fitness and if he is good enough for this level

Yeah, if they're really going to play him week-in, week-out then fair enough. If he's not going to then it'd have been a daft move.

Billy told Chippers that no more players were going out, but we got Bertrand in and looks like Bennett may be off to join Palace on loan!

Sounds Ideal.

Because of the strength in depth we have at left back We might as well play Cohen at left back if the Chelsea youth team player gets injured/recalled and say **** it this season.

We sign one on loan and everything's a bed of roses again. bull**** or very short sighted if you ask me

Bennett was always going out on loan. Didn't matter on whether or not we signed a LB. He's not sharp enough for us at the moment, and there were rumours of Cohen starting at LB regardless of how fit Bennett was.
