We're fully aware that February and March would be a difficult period but we know what we have to do and that's to finish fourth from bottom.

. this guy isn't normal... how about we go on an unbeaten run till the end of the seaon and finish mid table! f*ck sake

Which guy?
Why do you use the Americanism guy? Unless his name is actually Guy.
Why isn't he normal? What he says makes perfect sense to me.
After the last few results, do you honestly believe we will end up in mid-table?
We've lost five or six games in a row, why would that lead to an unbeaten run?

firstly, don't talk like a tool!

and secondly the comment was just an expression of annoyance for BD's negativity.. why not push for maximum points .. it's as though that GUY will settle for mediocrity and a relegation battle is okay.. so if we loose a couple, that's okay because we expect to be at the foot of the table..

and thirdly I believe we are good enough to be mid table, those KIDS managed by that GUY just need encouragement and a winning mentality!

Billy is doing what he can. I wasnt in favour of him coming in, but like any manager in the hotseat he has my backing.

Without actually clearly saying it, he WANTED players in the January window.

He also WANTED players in the loan window.

For "whatever reason" they havent come.

Its quite clear to me that he isnt getting board backing financially. Virtually every other club in this division has used the loan system or added to their squad in January / Feb.

Players that I would have liked us to be in the hunt for have gone to lower leagues! (Bunn and Pericard)

Therefore, he only has Calderwoods tools to work with.

Given the players available, few of us would have picked a different side to what went out yesterday.

Clearly that wasnt good enough - against an average Derby side.

No mistake - Derby pissed all over us yesterday. It was embarrassing.

If the Chairman isnt prompted to support his manager financially after seeing that, he is clearly happy to see us relegated.

"Attain and retain Premiership status" Mr Doughty?

You wont even fund us to stay in this division!

True, we have had tough opposition - but that isnt going to get easier. Our successes have only been against very poor teams - mediocre sides like the Sheep have turned us over with ease.

Easy to get very doom and gloom about this, but where is the next point coming from?

You're absolutely correct. The the key question you ask is " for whatever reason". Make no mistake there IS a reason and it is a very sound one as far as the people that made it are concerned.
I have said it before many times on this forum - There WILL be a long term plan for Nottingham Forest FC, but it may well be one that is so unpalatable to the fans that that they have to be spun a yarn until the end game becomes inevitable. ND is no "fiscal fool".

When he says "that's what we have to do" he is saying it's a minimum requirement not that os what he wants or thinks we will do!!

Don't think Billy is trying hard enough in the loan window , he already said that he's looking at Pleat & Burke to look for someone when he should be the one asking around. He might have came in late but there's no excuse for not doing your homework. CC always managed to find loans , so why can't Davies ?

I listened to Billy's post match interview as we drove home from the game in silence.

I have noticed a change over the last seven weeks to the way Billy conducts his interviews. His optimism and positive spin appears to have been replaced with comments laced with negativity. Or is it realism?

I'd had enough of Calderwood's consistant rose petalled vague and blinkered spiel yet I find myself equally unhappy with Davies' more honest and direct approach.

What exactly do I want Billy to say? Do I really want to hear the reality of our situation?

If it feels bad now just think how it would have felt with some of CC's positive comments (which there would have been).

I have listened to BD and to be fair I don't think he has said one thing that isn't true - Indeed, many of his observations have been made by the more level headed and realistic posters on this forum.

It could be argued that he is preparing us for failure - although it could also be argued that he is trying to take pressure of the young players who really aren't yet ready for first team football because he knows that we will expect too much of them.

Hardly , when you morale is low , last thing you want to hear from the manager is that they are not good enough , they shouldn't be in the first team , blah blah blah.

I understand exactly what you're saying Eric yet I couldn't help but feel even more depressed after hearing his interview than I was beforehand.

If this is the way I feel, a meagre fan, then how do our players feel?

I try and put myself into some kind of comparable situation. I'm at work and I've done my best to do a good job but it just hasn't been successful for whatever reasons. I expect to be bollocked and told what I did wrong. I also expect to be told how I should change to put things right and how to achieve it. I want to be motivated and inspired and incentivised by my own desire to succeed in a positive way. Maybe Billy is different in the dressing room. Who knows?

I do sometimes fear that our squad are being driven through fear of where we currently are rather than where we can be if we set our minds straight and target success.

Realism is fantastic but please let's have an element of clear optimism too.

The way BD undermines the players is concerning to say the least. No, this squad may not be up to scratch, and no, you may not want certain players at the club in the future, but right now you need these players to get us out of trouble. Right now, on this run of form, we're going to be back in the relegation zone, and it's going to be tough to haul ourselves out once more.

The confidence seems to have been drained from many of the players, players who managed to win at the likes of Manchester City, Norwich, Southampton, Charlton. They must have some ability to get such results, so it comes down to team selection, tactics and motivation, all of which BD is responsible for. BD has to begin taking some responsibility, otherwise we're going down.

just watched the goals again on the championship and have to say Chambers has almost singlehandedly cost us that game yesterday. It was him that gave away the free kick for the first goal and then failed to win the header or the knock down, from which nyatanga scored. In a hopeless punt forward it was then chambers who gave the ball away again for their second goal, giving it directly to a derby player from which they launched their attack which led to the freekick for the second. He has proved this season he is not a championship full back and is one of our weakest links. One of his strengths from last season was the amount of goals he got coming forward from free kicks but even those have dried up now. Moloney should replace him permanently i think.

If we finish fourth from bottom, I will be ecstatic! But I still think it is achievable with the players we have!

Talk about overanalysing the guys words. All he's saying is that the most important thing is to make sure we stay clear of the drop zone.

And he's right.
