Barnsley fan - one more week...

Well chaps. We've been in this sodding relegation battle together for week after week. It's getting close to 'D' day.

f***ing hell, I'm nervous.

When we went 1-0 up against Wolves today Oakwell went mad. I was going crazy. None of us thought we could hold that lead though.

We'll all have our eyes peeled for that Reading Norwich game tomorrow. I hope for the good of both of us that Norwich get beaten - see you safe, see us so much closer (and would see us playing our final game against a side who would also be safe).

I don't fancy going to Plymouth if they are still in the mix and us having to relegate them at home if we want to stay up...

I have read on here that Reading won't be playing their best side - the Preston result today against Brum really convinces me that Reading have a very good shout for automatic promotion. It is almost in their own hands - they just need Sheffield United not to win against Palarse on the last day. I can see Reading determined to beat Norwich - and I hope they go into it all fired up. The pressure seems to be on Birmingham now for me.

If Norwich win - I think we will get relegated, because I think that we will get a draw at best from Plymouth.

Sorry mate I think it's going to be you guys. Don't think you have what it takes to win at Plymouth and feel Norwich are going to pick up 3 points at Charlton even if they get nothing against Reading.

To be fair we are good at getting draws. If Norwich lose against Reading, and beat Charlton, and we get a point from Plymouth, we'll be fine. I feel confident that we can get a draw at Plymouth - I just don't believe that we'll get three points.

I think Barnsley are safe, Norwich are dreadful and I doubt they will get more than a point out of there next 2 games.

[prove me wrong] But then when ever I seem to predict things they rarely happen [/prove me wrong]

Barnsley nor Forest are by no means safe but as you say all eyes are on Norwich.

If Norwich lose, I think they're gone. If they get a draw, I think Barnsley will face the drop.

Obviously have to be cautious about our result, but I really can't see BD allowing us to mess us again like we did against Yeovil. I think a draw will be good enough for us.

Well Reading will want to get a decent run going to go into the play offs with a chance and Charlton will want to give their fans something to cheer them off too before the Summer break. That's why I believe they will go down.

Barnsley are due a win in my eyes after two or three weeks of bad missed opportunites for them. They're not playing badly by any stretch of the imagination. Equally Norwich are still well in it as they've been popping up with wins here and there all season, and were clearly in the game at Ipswich. Also Reading aren't averse to a dicky result are then, as we well know!

It's gonna go to the last day I reckon. Bloody hell, not again!

I am in hope that it is Naarwich that take the plunge - mainly because this BRF seems a very nice chap and I think the carrot crunchers need a spell in L1 to sort themselves out!!!

A few have already said exactly what I think.

If Norwich get a point tomorrow, Barnsley are going down.

If Norwich lose, then they're down instead.

I think Norwich will go down, I don't think they're very good at all. Awful team.

I think 'the twat' is a bit harsh. To be fair to him he left for footballing reasons and he is too good for League One.

To play in Nigel Worthington's promotion bound Norwich team? Give over. He left for a pay increase, nothing else.

Would you not move company if someone was gong to pay you more to do exactly the same job?

Possibly yes, but other factors would come into it too like not being in East Anglia.

Pepper cited he left for footballing reasons. I don't believe that. I'd have no problem with Sammy if he came out and said he left for the pay rise. Instead he came out with some insipid bullshit about going up to the Premier League with Norwich. :)

They were playing in the premiership only a couple of seasons ago, they were always more likely to achieve promotion than us.

In Peppers defence how would you feel if a player publicly stated they only signed for us because of money?

I'd feel that a bit of honesty crept back into Football.

Players like Cohen, Davies, Chambers, Lynch etc who have joined us from lower league teams have come primarily due to money. Players like Earnie and Wilson will have moved due to being unhappy at their current club, but you can bet your boots they wouldn't have joined us if asked to take a 50% pay cut.

Players who really care about the club show it on the pitch like Psycho did, not spout generic "the club is big, it's going places, it has the facilities in place to be in the next league" in the media that seems to be the prerequisite of players nowadays.

Does this bother me? No. Football is a job to these people.

Edit: Sorry, meant to say that as long as they put 100% in every week then I don't care for what reasons they joined. :)
