Back to the Bottom 3...

Well, barnsley 3-1 up against palace. We sound a bag of sh-ite on the radio, and BD, top man manager wants to call skinny kids fat with attitudes.

Looks a bit grim.

Sounds like the only thing we did have as been broken. The kids have tried, and our main kid who's probably won us more points than any has now fallen out of favour with the gaffer.

I'm feelin down, relegated down.

No wonder my post count..
Not good at all. From now till may will be worst months to be a Forest fan.

I wish I didn't care.

Don't worry guys, I've just done the BBC predictor and I have us finishing a comfortable 7 points above the drop zone at the end (with 53 points).

This was assuming the following:

- Getting a point against Wolves this Sat.

- Beating Barnsley away and getting a point at Blackpool.

- Sheff Utd away being our only other defeat this season.

- Only bothering to draw with Saints on the last day cos we're safe by then anyway. Them and Barnsley went down.

Although our current predicament looks bad, there are a couple of weekends left where (at least in theory) we have the chance to get some points and our closest rivals have pretty hard matches. This weekend, Sat 11th April and Sat 18th April are those weekends in question IMO.

Barnsley away is absolutely massive and we really need to be beating Bristol City and Cov at home. If we can manage that, then defeats to Wolves this Sat and Sheff Utd away won't matter THAT much.

Whatever happens, it's gonna be ridiculously close.

All of this goes with the caveat that I'm probably trying to do the impossible - predict results in probably the most unpredictable league in the world!

Have you been drinking?

It is at this time in the season where the bottom clubs just find a way to win. I'm sure there will be a clutch of teams on 50 points or so, and it's going to be as tight as a nun's chuff. Saturday's humiliation was particularly damaging as it effectively left us with a minus point from the game, severly denting our previously decent goal difference.

Personally I think we'll not get out of the bottom three now, and I'd hate to say it but we'll probably finish 2nd bottom.

I so wish this wasn't true, and we can go into the Southampton game on teh last day knowing that a win will ensure survival.

Too many generalisations 'we sound a bag of shite on the radio' , I'm sure after a performance like the reading game that tune would change yet again,
Lewis is almost being hailed as our saviour which should be quite laughable to anyone who has seen him play regularly this season. I'm sure BD is saying Lewis needs to lose weight, because he does, he looks lethargic, he doesn't look fit enough to complete 90 mins at a remotely acceptable tempo. In fact i'd say his fitness levels dictate he should only be used as a 20 minute impact player.

He's often called inconsistent ... maybe he's just not fit enough to be consistent? :)

Blind optimism works for me...................... God, there were even people saying we wouldn't get promoted with 8 games to go last season. Insane.

True, however I too have the sinking feeling that we will be relagated prior to the last game of the season

Knowing Forest as I do, we'll get relegated after losing to Blackpool and we will then go on to hammer Southampton leaving us all wondering how it happened.....

Please please please prove me wrong!

If we were offered the chance to go into the last game against Southampton needing a win to stay up, would we take it or risk the rest of the season as is?

I cant answer that question, the table is to delicately balanced at the minute, and it seems that some teams have the "on paper" harder fixtures than us............ but then again we're capable of f***ing it up either way...........

I did the predictor too and have us finishing 2 points above the drop zone with 50 points. Ive been pretty harsh us with predicitng losing to wolves and Shef U and only winning against Coventry and Southampton. All the other teams have difficult games and play each other and provided we get 9 points from 21, I think that will be enough, and no reason we cant do it.

Actually looking at my predictor we will have to get a draw against Saints to stay up.

We'll win, there'll be a massive pitch invasion much like last season, somebody will lift Billy Davies on their shoulders and all the people still in the stands will say, "Why are they all carrying that small boy around on their shoulders?"

We'll all get drunk and hail the messiah, King Billy, who will sign Marlon Harewood and we'll be in the promotion hunt next year having gained revenge against Derby twice.

I've got us staying up fairly comfortably as well, although I'd imagine other teams will probably pick up more than I've given them.

Id be very surprised if 49 points kept us up :(

Yeah, I would have thought some of the other teams will spring a couple of surprises, but to be fair, some of their games are pretty difficult. I was also quite negative about our results - I expect us to get 49 points minimum.

We'll stay up, but it's going to be oh so close.
