Some years ago, I had an infected tooth which the dentist had to do a root canal on. Prior to the treatment, I was in agony over the weekend and Sunday evening - I went down the A&E at the local hospital. They couldn't do anything for me but they recommended I visit the night chemist and purchase "Nurofen with Codeine" and whilst this didn't fix the tooth, it sure made a real difference with the pain, and helped me through the difficult time before I made it to the dentist the next day.

However, you will need to seek the advice of your local pharmacy before taking anything different, in case there is a reason why you can't have a particular medicine.

Otherwise, you need to get to your dentist as soon as possible since the toothache points to an underlying problem which will only create further complications if left untreated.

Bottle of vodka?

Or, stub your toe, stand on some lego or carelessly lick an envelope.

Seriously, take a paracetamol based painkiller and either gargle with antiseptic mouthwash or salt water until you can get an appointment.
