away pub at hillsborough

anyone find a pub close to hillsborough? we ended up a 10-15min walk away up a steep hill in a pub called the horse and jockey.

We went on the coach run by Test Match pub in Bridgford, we stopped at a nice pub just outside Sheffield for nearly 2 hours for food and drink, before getting escorted to Hillsborough for about 2.30pm.

if you had gone the other up the small hill next to the lepping lane entrence (away end) you would of found a load of shops and pubs which forest fans were in

We didn't enjoy our last trip to Wednesday last season (as far as local hospitality was concerned). I think the Horse and Jockey last time was the one full of Wednesday meat-heads. Not very welcoming. So, this year we decided to do one of two things.....
1). Park up near Bramall Lane, enjoy a pint or two and a meal in the Vietnamese rice and noodle restaurant near-by (really good stuff there!). Then tram it over to Hillsborough. Or.
2). Go to Wentworth (recommended by an LTLF member and used by us for the Barnsley game last season). We chose the latter this time, but were disappointed to see new 'no football fans' and 'no buses' signs at the pub (George and Dragon). We went in for a couple of drinks and were told that this normally-welcoming pub had been told by the police to discourage football fans because of the antics (not of Reds fans) but of Wolves fans who last season turned up in three bus loads already p--sed and proceded to cover the village in broken glass and urine. Scum. Just thought I'd warn those of you who go in that huge bus sometimes. I think they'll still welcome you if you phone first because you give football fans a good name. The guy who owns the shop opposite the pub (does great buuties) thinks so highly of the reds that he bet on us beating the Owls yesterday.

We just had beers in the City Centre, then got on a seriously crowded Tram upto Leppings Lane. It was fun, good banter on the tram.

we were told to go to netto by the coppers and buy beer there as long as we drank it outside the away end

We just stood outside Netto :) The police would only direct us to the pub that was about 15-20 minutes up the hill.

Yeah defo going use them for all my away games i go to from now on, Alan and his cousin are top guys, Was a great way to go to away matches, very relaxed but with a laugh.

Yeah I went to the pub up the that bloody hill !! Nice enough place and some decent Wednesday fans outside, taking interest in us and all hating Sheff Utd. Went back after for a few.

When we asked the police that was the place they were sending all away fans, one of the locals said in 30 odd years they only had one major bit of trouble with away fans and that was the wheel pinchers who claim to never walk alone.

We went to a pub called the 'New Bridge Inn' about 10 mins walk from the ground. A mix of Forest and Wednesday fans inside and out.

And all of you 'nork' spotters would have had a field day in there, it was nork heaven!

No stunning barstaff on this occasion, I just meant the punters. One lass looked like a supermodel. However, she was wearing a Sheffield Wednesday shirt, which soured it slightly.... :p

Just got back from this pub. Full of Middlesbro fans but the barmaid has the biggest tits i've ever seen. Her face wasn't great but they were literally bigger than my head.

Yeah same here, copper just said to us " Just go and get some cans", was about 30 of us lot just stood outside Netto.

Is it just me or does their pathetic road block system just delay everything and everybody causing maximum disruption!! If you don't get in your car before the coaches leave then you're fu**ed!
