Average attendance 2009/10

With the excitement & euphoria going around at the moment because of the signings we have made to date, plus another possible 3/4 others quality signings we are hearing about - What do you think will be the average home crowds for the first couple of month or so??

I say for the first couple of month because we won't have any idea as to where we will be come Christmas and just after.

I'll kick off by predicting 26,000 plus

Should we be up there - in the top 6 at Christmas then I could see us starting to pull in 28/30,000

Before this topic gets under way - does anyone have any idea what season tickets have been sold to date and are we topping last years figures yet?

With the feel good factor ending last season and the continued additions I can see 26k and the continued incredible away support !

I think by the end of the season, our average will be at about 24-25,000

Not significantly higher than last season... but enough to make a difference.

I also think that the atmosphere will be a lot better. We have some tough games at the start of the season BUT I'm sure we will keep the points tally ticking over. Seriously, can anyone remember how bleak autumn & winter were last season??

- I predict a lot more goals (compare our attacking options now to the first 3 months of last season, SO much better)
- I predict a lot more home wins
- And I predict more little outbursts from Billy about how the fans should get behind the team

Home losses against Norwich, Preston, Burnley, Crystal Palace, Cardiff... alongside 0-0 draws against Charlton and Blackpool

Just seemed to be relentless disappointment week in, week out. Month after month of shit.

So yeah. Even though I don't think the attendances will increase massively, I do I think the contrast in atmosphere will be massive. People will turn up expecting to score goals, and expecting to get points, which will result in a much better feeling around the ground.

There were quite a few matches last season when the crowd had nothing to cheer or get excited about and the atmosphere was sh!te and felt more like a morgue.

I cant see this happening this season barring a disaster. I remember well, our European Cup days & nights when the atmosphere was electric - Let's bring them back again.

Anticipation is getting bigger every day now and the closer we get to kick off the more I get excited thinking about it and I hope everyone else will do too.

Billy Davies shouldn't worry to much about our support, it has always been there it just wants igniting and if BD delivers I know all of the 20,000 plus Trickies will do too.

SIX new players, and there is hope around the ground, hoping to re-ignite old fortunes.

im so opmistic i think DanR could get funny again!

Remember Derby at home is an early fixture, this will boost any first month average.

Still, I expect season ticket sales to be up by a couple of thousand with any luck, so we can look at slightly more healthy crowds next season. It's depressing sitting in B and seeing a half empty BC stand.

Whilst i think our attendances will increase i cant see them doing so by much unless matchday tickets are reasonably priced. Tickets for the home game against West Brom have been set to £28 (£30 on the day) which to me doesnt sound great when the opposition is not even a local rival.

Realistically i think we will get 23000 - 24000 as an average home attendance. I hope its more though!

22-24k average. Capacity versus Noocassel, the Sheep, Blunts, and Boro. Maybe the Baggies, if they bring enough.

Our attendances will be similar to what we have had in the past. We have proved in our time in the 3rd div that we are not glory hunters, just hardcore forest fans.

The baggies are confident of selling their allocation. Friend is a Baggies fan and sys that their ticket office had been inundated with requests for tickets before they received then this week (delayed by Forest)

They have only been allocated 2200 but been told that they can pay on the day for £2 extra - making matchday admission £30

Incidentally official travel from the Hawthorns for the match is £18 - exactly the same as Forest Travel Club are charging this year for the Plymouth trip (some 180 miles further away)

As of today we have sold approximately 12500 - slightly up on last year but not significantly.

Perhaps the new signings will boost sales.
