Audio Coverage?

Hi! :hi:

I'm new around here and I was wondering if anyone knows where I can find an online audio coverage of our games (one that works for non-UK users and possibly free, if there is such a thing)? I'm basically looking for better alternatives to being glued to livescore.com during matches.

Cheers.

For as little as about £4 a month you can get Forest Player which gives a guaranteed and pretty reliable stream of all of our games, along with video highlights, interviews with the players and other features.

It really isn't a lot of money.

Find somebody in Nottinghamshire with a radio tuner card for their PC, get them to set up a streaming shoutcast server of Radio Nottingham. Or just pay for Forest Player and bask in the feeling of helping to pay for Billy Davies' helicopter to Glasgow.

No, I'm not advertising livescore.com as T.B.T. pointed out though you'd think that with so many posts saying "ForestPlayer is the only way" there's a discount for those who help recruit new members. :)

I'll probably register later this week. Thanks for all your help.

Unfortunately all radio streams for league matches are contracted to whatever company runs the "player" sites so you can't get a (legal) radio stream. Its a bit of a bummer if your outside the radius of Radio Nottingham.

Serves you right for selling out and leaving Nottinghamshire really! lol

skype call to someone in nottingham who has a radio - I wouldn't advocate it but Forest Player IS unreliable and geared for folks back in England. It also often goes down, stops and starts etc (in my experience) - I think the business model is flawed (for people abroad) I play Football with a few ex-pats and a lot of Canadians (who are fanatical about British "soccer") with our recent success I am trying to recruit as many new reds as possible, and quite a few of them would be listening to the games and becoming more caught up as new fans - except, they are never going to fork out 100 dollars a year for the privileged - if they did get caught up in the excitement I am sure there would be a market for Forest shirts and souvenirs whenever I nip back to England.

I can see the point in charging for fans in England to listen, but we dont have anything like the fan-base abroad that we used to have any longer (thanks Platt, Megson, and co) - the club ought to be more creative with merchandising offering free Forest World with a Reds shirt (or similar) or free to new fans abroad (to increase shirt sales) - restricting access to the excitement of matchday is hardly an encouragement to feel part of the club (when you are over 3000 miles away, have never visited Nottingham and can get free Premier League, Champions league, sierra A, etc games live on TV most days of the week) - Just my opinion

I have to disagree I have been using Forest world for a long time now and don't have any start stop problems at all and in Alabama that's something.

In fact I listened to several games in Canada(Calgary) over Christmas/ New Year without any issues at all.

I think the problem may lie with your connection or ISP rather than Forest World.

Also worth mentioning is the rabidly pro-Forest coverage by Radio Nottingham for each and every Forest match. You quickly get used to the rose tint and the quality of the coverage shines through whilst providing an engaging and often chucklesome listening experience. I'm quite a big fan.

But at least its quality pro-Forest coverage in English! I listened to radio Sheffields' version of the Forest Vs Wednesday coverage as I live in Sheffield ( sorry :-( ) and the commentry is appaling. Every sentence finished with 'at this moment in time'... Thanks Dextor :) that shut them up big time

Er, I think if you are outside the UK you can listen to Radio Nottingham online. In the UK, you get the build up but not the game due to licenseing.

Either that or Skype to Skype - you just need to know someone with a radio that lives in Nottingham.

Seems like I've found something that works but can any of the locals confirm it really is the right radio station? It says that the next show is "matchday" so I guess it is.

http://radiotime.com/station/s_18216/BBC_Nottingham_1038.aspx

BBC Radio Nottingham I can confirm it is,but sadly the stream cuts off at close to 3 o'clock for people living outside Nottingham so you can NOT listen to the match from that. Some licensing issue or something, anyone know if it's one of the five live channels today, cos I think there might be a chance with a lack of 3 o'clock premiership matches and that?

I think that will cut off just before kick-off as they probably get their feed on the internet from BBC and the Beeb stop online streams just before 3 until after the finish. . . fingers crossed I'm wrong though
