As good as Davies says?

Are we as good as Davies says we were on his Radio Nottm interview? Didn't really keep up with the way things went for us on Saturday beyond the result.

Sounds very positive if Davies is right. His words about the support were great to hear, sounds like our away fans were on fire.

The support was great, I hardly heard a negative comment all afternoon. Even when Chambers came on. OK, so, apart from when Chambers came on.

I'm not sure we deserved to win. We had the better of the game for spells, but it wasn't like we were creating loads of chances. If the game had taken place in November, we'd be happy with a point having been 1-0 down and facing a penalty, but with 5 games left it somehow feels like a missed opportunity.

I wouldn't say we 'deserved' to win, either. Like BD says, we had the better of the first half, but second half it could have gone either way. That penalty save seemed to be the turning point, but around that time we had several (sometimes scrappy) chances and on another day we could have had three or four goals. Barnsley were quite lively at times though too. Point probably fair, but like DanR says seems/feels like two points lost as they were definitely there for the taking.

That is one thing I love about BD. He spends a great a lot of attention and appreciation towards supporters. "The supporters deserve better" "we are doing it for the supporters" I am pretty sure he will have been the one who demanded the Barnsley tickets were reduced after the Burnley performance. It seems he is making a genuine attempt to keep us on side. Whether that is because he is fearing the worst and doesn't want to lose our backing I don't know but all the same I am thoroughly loving the appreciation!!

I must say though the crowd was buzzing at Barnsley it was non stop for the complete 90 minutes!

Absolutely! Quality performance from the Forest faithful. Loved every minute of it. Put Barnsley to shame, they only sang for 2 minutes during the whole match, and that was after they scored. Now to transfer that to the City Ground for these last few games...

I thought we did deserve to win to be honest.

It was great game. I thought they had the better of the start and end of the second half but we creatd the most clear cut chances. As away performances go, apart from shakey defence at times, it was a good one.
One bug bear is set peices, we were s**t at taking them and s**t at defending them. Many would say this is down to lack of experience playing together.

The way i looked it after the game, if we had lost i think we couldve felt aggreived with the number of chances we created. If we had won, i think anyone coul step back and say we deserved it, coming away from home and performing like that. I think a draw was a fare-ish result, but i think we edged it.

On another note, I think we will stay up, definitely some fight from the boys there.

Most away games, they are buzzing and great atmospheres. And you don't hear many negative comments, 'coz were not playing at Home lol

Yeah but there is never usually 4000 of us and it never usually lasts. It did on saturday and that really impressed me.

Just been chatting with a Barnsley supproting work mate who was there - reckons we played really well, the fans were fantastic and wishes us luck for the rest of the season (as long as we finish a point below them)

Said we were one of the most attacking sides to play there and he was suprised it finished a draw - reckoned we should have got a couple at least

Went to the game on Saturday and was proud to be a Forest fan in such a vocal bunch! We never stopped singing and halfway through the second half, I had a punding headache from all the noise.

In terms of the game, I'd say we slightly edged it and it does feel like two points dropped (Earnie hitting the bar). If the ref had been a lot better, Barnsley wouldn't have had as many chances.

On another note, it was the first time I'd seen Osbourne play and thought he had a brilliant game. He's a good holding midfielder who can also run with the ball and I'd say he's better than the Moose!

Agree with the point about the Barnsley fans only singing for two minutes after they scored. The 'no noise from the fiver boys' chant pretty much summed them up.

We got more banter from Doley the Dolescum Dog, or whatever their mascot's called.

I'm surprise they didn't rename him 'Striker' for the day.

I read his programme column on the train back (Steve and Dave had one, and between the three of us we could just about manage to read). He's certainly the most intelligent dog in Barnsley, if not one of the more intelligent lifeforms full stop, if that Barnsley fan on the train from Sheffield is any kind of benchmark.

Do you remember the train conductor who looked like Titus Bramble?

I am not so sure about him to be honest. He does keep the ball well. But then he does over do it and keeps it too long giving the ball away. I would say Moussi and him are on a similar level and therefore Osbourne will be replaced when he comes back from injury because of the loanees we have left out the side. I assume BD will want Ando back in the side as quick as possible but priorities are prioirities and while we have McCleary and Tyson available on the wing he has to be left out I suppose. The full backs have to play, the keeper has to play and the striker has to play. The holding midfielder has to be there while Moussi is injured and therfore Ando has to be left out.

I was more concerned with that retarded bloke who seemed to be strangling his dog.

Found the 'Are you Scargill in disguise?' chant aimed at their mascot very amusing.

Indeed. You must have been in the same carriage as me and my brother. That train was no more than a glorified cattle truck. It was a good job I'd had a couple of lunchtime pints before getting on.

Tyson and Turner aside you were poor very much like ourselves.
And McCleary who skinned your whole defence, on numerous occassions (and put a great ball into the box that really should have been buried)
And Earnshaw who scored and hit the bar and found acres of space throughout the game
And Cohen, who your midfielders couldn't cope with, so they kicked the shit out of him.

We definitely created more clear-cut chances than Barnsley on the day. Certain things never clicked, so the chances weren't converted, but I certainly see it as 2 points dropped.

I could say the same about Anderson for ourselves. andrik who got kicked by cohen everytime he got the ball, like I said two poor teams who showed why they are in the bottom half of the table. The ref wasn't much cop either.

I was still hungover from the day before so topped myself up with a few pints, otherwise i could have been sick on that dog just to shut it up!

And Peter Shilton who is England's most capped player.
And Viv Anderson who was England's first black player to win a cap.
And Frank Clark who could play the guitar.

I thought we played pretty well apart from in front of goal and to be honest it has been a key issue all season. I was very concerned about Barnsley though to be honest. They are similar to us but under Davey I can't see them going anywhere fast.

That sounds like us. We were fairly near the yelping dog. Did the fact that we stunk of beer give us away as Forest fans?
