Arron Davies

Where will he be next season? There has been talk of him being sold, but personally, i think we should try to send him out on loan for the season. There will probably be several league 1 clubs looking at him. I think it would be good to give him another season to try and prove himself and perhaps it's best if he is sent down to a level where he has performed well at before and see if he can prove he is good enough. It would be good for him as it will give him a chance to get his confidence and fitness back at a level he has proven that he can be very good.

I was excited when we signed him and i think it will be a shame if we sell him before he has had a real chance to show what he can do. I know he hasnt been great since he joined us, but he has been injury hit and that will have caused him to lose confidence. If we can get him back to the level he was playing at when he was at Yeovil and terrorising our defence then that would be great for us all. I can just see him being another Marlon King, Neil Harris kind of player, who underperformed with us and as soon as he is sold will suddenly start showing the form that lead us to buying him in the first place. Also i don't suppose that we will get back the amount that we payed for him if we sold him now either.

What do you think?

I think he will be shipped out on loan if possible but I cannot see any side paying a fee for a guy who has barely kicked a ball in a year and looks bereft of confidence. Maybe Yeovil will have him back!

Is he still under contract? If not I'd release him.

I just don't think there is ANY point having him in the squad. The most worthwhile thing he's done since arriving is shooting at Kelvin Davies and having it pushed in Earnie's direction in the final game of last season.

I'd like to see us offer Davies to Brighton in a swap deal for Lynch.

I can't see this happening i think Brighton see Lynch as too much of a valuble assest to them as he is only what 19? and is a bright young prospect and would want cash for him. Or Davies + cash

He's a Christian Edwards of a player.
Seemed to have potential but not at all.

Never really had a good run in the first team because of injuries. I say we give one last crack at the championship.

I think he was brought in to make the sum of money offered to Yeovil Town too much to refuse. Everyone seemed to think he was amazing because of his play off semi final performance against us so he would keep fans happy too.

According to Yeovil fans he never really performed throughout seasons and then would have wonder games every now and then. I think he has had the odd decent game for us here and there but he is no wonder player he didn't do well in league one and when he has played this year he has been poor. The expectation on his shoulders did him no favours either and if we can sell now we should.

controversial but i like him ! if he can get over his injury worries then i think he could be a very good player, Im sure it was him who above all players in a friendly against Everton pre season really stood out for me.

Davies was the person we paid £1m+ for, Cohen we paid about £300k for, the only reason Davis was that price was so Yeovil didnt have to pay West Ham a sell on fee for Cohen, thats why he was the cheapest and Davies the most, it was purely a way of Yeovil not having a large amount to give West Ham

It was £1m for Davies and £200k for Cohen. You're right though, Wet Sham were due 50% of any transfer, the way it was structured maximised Yeovil's earnings.

Provided a couple of wingers are brought in then I'd let Davies go to anyone that wants him. It's not like we'll have lost out on anything, Cohen's worth much more than the £1.2m we paid for the pair.

It's just a shame we couldn't have just Cohen and made a helluva profit out of it.

If we can quietly let him go then do so. If not, then a back up player at most.

We wouldn't have got Cohen for £200k without signing Davies, though.

Cohen was always the more valuable asset to Yeovil and one of the more talked about 'in demand' players in the League. If there wasn't the issue with sell on fee's and we'd have signed Cohen on his own, he'd have still cost about £1m, I reckon.

Yep, Leicester were sniffing after Cohen but wouldn't take Davies too (I understand).

That's true actually....

Although he's hadly had chance has he. I can't see him ever making it with us now we're in the Championship. If he could have nailed down place in the team in League One and got some real confidence in his game, like Cohen, who knows what would have happened, but it's probably near impossible now for him to get the run of games he'd need.

It's a shame really, there's a touch of the Eugen Bopp about him; Great potential, and bags of talent but when not on form he looks lightweight and shite, and a bad injury put him right down the pecking order.

Good luck either way though Arron, a decent lad I think.

I agree. I see a bit of talent there and I would go on record as saying I think he is the best dribbler of the ball in the first team squad, even when Commons was here.

When he actually gets the ball and goes at people, he looks quite threatening and, although he always cuts inside from the left, he can use both feet, which is something I like in a footballer. He's got a very good shot on him too and, unlike most of our midfielders, isn't afraid to shoot from distance if there's a good chance (yes you Mr Cohen!).

Unfortunately, he'll probably never get a chance here and his injuries obviously haven't helped much. I'd give him this season to prove himself (that he can stay injury free!) and earn a new contract.
