Lots of opinions expressed here from people who, I suspect, haven't watched a game of Scottish football in years.
Nobody here has expressed an opinion on him based on having watched him regularly. The closest is Notcher and Donny having watched a little bit of him.

Everyone else is talking about what Celtic fans (who presumably do watch Scottish football) have said about him.

If you have watched him play, please let us know what you think

Strange if he’s that bad they turn down that sort of money ?!?!?

I think the board and fan relationship has made them reluctantly reject 25m. If they were top of the league as usual and more harmony bewteen fans and board, they'd have bitten our hand of for 17m.

But selling their best midfielder without a replacement as well as having a pretty disastrous season would create ructions up in Glasgow in the current climate. Hearts 6 ahead and Rangers breathing down their neck.

It's exactly the reason why fans have the ongoing campaign against the board up there.

Exactly this.

My wife is a Celtic fan and she's starting to get a bit tense about the idea of losing him.

I saw him on SportScene last night and he seemed pretty reasonable to me. Lively and eager to get forward.

This post summarises a lot of what I'm reading from Scottish fans

Even if they suddenly say yes, is there enough time for his eye test medical, or do we have a doctor parked up in Glasgow?

I agree with the Scottish fans. He's no good for us, but better than most Scottish players.

So let him stay in Scotland. Not worth £25 million. Bloody hell, I nearly started shouting at the TV when I saw that. Good job the Celts realised he wasn't worth it either and rejected the offer.

For £25m we could buy half of Scotland let alone one player.
Isn't Doncaster still technically part of Scotland due to some administrative quirk in the 12th century and it was never handed back?

That could take a dent of about £1.25 out of the budget.

I feel like one of the QI Elves on here - The Lordship of Doncaster was given to Prince Henry of Scotland by King Stephen of England in 1136, but it was given to the man, not the state so while Henry of Scotland does seem to have administered the area for a few decades it was never part of Scotland, merely owned by a scot. It was given under the Treaty of Durham, but King Henry the second of England then seems to have said "bollocks to that" and reclaimed it in 1156. Whether that reclaiming was legally valid is a textbook moot point.

Succession planning for Anderson. Get him in, let him learn from Ando before he goes - seems like a sensible transfer (depending on who has actually identified him from the club!)

I'm reading he's decent- but wouldn't hold up in the prem. Celtic supporters seem split on the risk as apposed to losing a fecking good deal

He's nowhere near to being their best midfielder either. McGregor, Forrest, Tounekti, Hatate and McCowan are all scoring higher than him on SofaScore. If you go in for that sort of data-led guff. If it doesn't support your narrative, you probably won't.

I’m related to King Henry of Scotland - you can keep Doncaster though, not interested.
