Arnaud Kalimuendo-Muinga

I think we need to find goals from wide areas, our strikers are okay in my opinion - only upgrade if we think we have found better. I would be fine with our current batch.
Yes, goal threat from wingers out wide virtually disappeared last season, only the last few weeks few weeks when MGW played a few games from the wider role dud that change. If wide players can get at least 10 between them that could be a big increase in points on its own.

I really disagree with this, if we go into next season with the same crop of strikers I think we're signing our own death warrant
Wood is 35 and carrying a permanant issue, may only be good for 20 odd games
Jesus has proven he cant lead the line on his own
Taiwo is great on his day but doesn't have many of those days and has proven to be a bit of a biscuit

We need a striker as a priority imo

He's 34.

If we don't learn from this season's over-relience on Wood, we deserve everything we get.

No coincidence our sides best form coincided with his return. When you've a genuinely deadly scorer up top, the whole team gets more confident and more focused.

And, seeing as VP likes to play 2 forrads at times, there's room for more too.

Jesus has proven he cant lead the line on his own

I don't think this is the case.

He scored a tonne of goals in Europe, leading the line by himself. Goals were hard to come by in the PL granted but chance creation for most of the season was rubbish, and that fact also impacted Wood who went 8 games without scoring before getting injured.

I personally think if we freshened up the system and had a 4-3-3 type formation with 2 #8's and Jesus dropping into the pockets of space to link up with significantly more advanced and threatening wide attacking players then he would look like mustard.

Our wingers are by far and away our biggest issue in the squad. They contribute next to nothing at either end of the field. Fix that and our strikers will suddenly look twice as good as they are as the number of chances they get provided increases. That includes Wood and Awoniyi as much as it does Jesus.

You have got to assume that if Kalimuendo-Muinga leaves, given Lucca also left, that we would certaininly be bringing in an additional striker.

Will it be a player who is a guaranteed starter, or a squad/development project who knows! Depends on too many factors (budget and availability for starters).

Think it’ll be interesting to see what he looks like after a summer off. He must have been exhausted 2nd half of the season. If he was the guy I watched lead the line as well as anyone you’ve ever seen at home to Spurs, then many of our problems are solved. I’m not convinced he can reliably hit those heights, but I don’t think we can rule it out either.

A lot of our guys will really benefit from having the summer to reflect I think. With Kali specifically, I wonder if there’s too much dirty water under the bridge, but we’ll see.

We should be telling them to f*** off then.

Even 23.2m is a book loss on the amortised value, albeit a fairly nominal one. I know PSR is no longer a thing, but it's still relevant under SCR. We definitely shouldn't be taking an extra 5m hit on top of that unless we get to the end of the transfer window and nobody else is in for him.
Depends for me. If the alternative is to keep him here as 4th choice striker then what are we getting for him next summer? Not £17m I'd imagine.

With the squad as it currently is, and with much fewer games to play I just don't see how Kalimuendo gets the sort of game time to have an impact.

I think we have to prioritise a proven goal scorer. Not a development project. Not a journeyman either. The current mix of Wood/Kali (though likely going)/Big T/Jesus is just unsatisfactory. All have big red markers against them, for different reasons. We need someone who ticks all boxes. I expect that means spending £30m-£50m. Don't ask me who that is. Not my job. But that's what I think we need.

I don't agree with your assessment about Jesus at all.

The issue all season was the lack of goals & creation from wingers, when we put MGW out there, it changed massively. We saw how good we looked as soon as we were a threat from wide areas.

You could have the best striker in the world upfront, if they are getting no service & are the lone goal threat of a team, you are not going to score goals - all our strikers have shown they have ability to score goals, priority should be wingers over strikers as wingers will improve the output of the strikers anyway.

A (hopefully) fully fit and firing CHO would help our issues out wide next season in my opinion.

He needs to do more than go down the left and cut in to shoot or cross though. When both him and Williams do this it makes our attacking down the left so weak.

It's way too early to be cutting the price though. Saying no now still gives us all summer for someone else to meet the price (and someone probably will, if not Frankfurt) - if it gets to the last week or so of the transfer window and there's no interest then think about taking a loss.

Jesus is a 10, one of the Murillo's said so (and it's obvious from watching him play) he's not a 9, wood and T are 9's who hold the ball up and bring others into play

Accept your point about wingers, but (banging that drum again) I am still hoping we go 3-5-2, 4-3-3, diamond 4-4-2 or some combination that doesn't use them at all. I'd like to see us play more through the middle and use wing backs for width.
To go full circle a front 3 of say MGW, Macatee and Jesus interplaying would bring the best out of all of them, so I'm sort of agreeing but would much prefer two 10's e.g. MGW and Jesus behind a new explosive quick number 9

BILD now saying Forest want £21.5m. So currently a £4.3m gap in valuation.
I read somewhere that the DoF at Eintracht has a reputation for agreeing option-to-buy fees before then trying to drive-down the said amount, considerably. He's evidently had some success with that tactic.
