I think we will really know the answer about Cooper when he takes his next managerial post, and what happens there. For my money he was out of his depth tactically. I sincerely hope he has taken this time off to think about how he approaches certain things, and realize what his own personal shortcomings are and find the right people to work alongside him. Managing in the Premier league is still the toughest place to succeed in the game of football. Every side from Fulham up (in the table) is a pretty good one. The only poor managers , imho, in the division, are Wilder and Ten Hag. This is a damn hard pond to survive in.
I think he was more beaten down and burnt out and i hope hes had a bloomin good rest. Im not sure the "go away and think about what youve done" is appropriate, but then im not a referee

If he's lucky enough to stumble across your post in sure he'll take your advice. I guess lifting the U17 WC was a fluke though. He's probably reflected on luck too.

Well put. Your first sentence there basically sums it up.

We've been a lot better to watch this season, mainly since Nuno came in actually. If I were a neutral then I'd definitely be tuning in for our games as you're always guaranteed goals one way or the other.
Usually the other :ROFLMAO:

I feel this thread needs to be it to bed now. We have survived in both seasons… just, so in effect both seasons have been the same. What we need to do is kick on next season and progress in terms of performance but, more importantly, results. Leicester survived first season and then won the league, Brighton had 2 seasons struggling and then came 7th, Villa had 3 bottom half finishes (17 11 14) so it is possible to break into the top half and we should be aiming to do that next season. To give us a chance we need to hold onto our good players (MGW CHO Murillo Sels Williams Elanga) and build a team around these key players. It would be great if we could get consistently good performances from Sangare, Dominguez, Danilo, Wood and Awoniyi and we can then concentrate on a couple of quality additions, if not, get rid and replace with better. Easy innit? Top half here we come…

I feel we've underperformed this season, given the list. Didn't feel that way last year. No idea if that makes us outright worse than last season or not. Doesn't really matter. It's about improving next season now.

Definitely better this season, especially I feel since Nuno has come in despite our points tally not being as good.

The football is better, we look more like a Premier League team, we aren't getting pumped like on a number of occasions last season (ignoring Fulham away), we are in every game and have been unfortunate on a number of occasions.

A good pre-season under Nuno, man to man marking or at least some extra work on set pieces would be nice, a clear out of some deadwood and a couple of shrewd signings and i think next season will be a lot more comfortable.

We just needed to survive this turbulent season and we have done, season 3 should be a good one :frantic:

I believe we are a much better team this year. If it weren’t for wayward decision making by our players in set pieces and awful performances from premiership referees, we’d be much higher in the league.

In the summer I expect stronger defenders to come in to aid with that along with the preseason so Nuno can properly stamp the team in his own way.

The eye test tells me that we're a better team this season (both under Cooper and Nuno), with the away performances being the most notable change. We were visibly terrified in most games last season, and I haven't seen much of that recently (except at set pieces...).

That first qtr of last season was definitely a doozy I’ll tell you what. Deer in headlights is an understatement.

we are definitely better , we are creating more but our problem is finishing them as we can see in the match against chelsea , with our leaky defence , if we cannot finish our chances , the opposition will just go over to our end and score putting the pressure on forest.
