Are signings used as a marketing tool?

I couldn't help but notice that our signings coincided with the release of ST on general sales.

Many believed that some of our signings were tied up weeks ago, but were held on to be unveiled at a more convenient time....... Season tickets??

It has me wondering that maybe one or two more deals are further down the line and the club are waiting for a lull in sales to reignite their ST push?!?!

Any thoughts? Fact or conspiracy, but it all does seem a bit coincidental.

Signings are undeniably a good marketing tool but you must also consider taht OFFICIALLY we couldn't sign anyone until 1st July if they were coming to the end of their contract.

Everyone has known for ages about Adebola but the best we heard from Forest was that he would sign on July 1st - when his contract expired.

Has happened a few times recently. Andy Cole was a big signing last year and was in my opinion done and dusted way before being announced... a day before ST's went on general sale.

And fan favourite Camp was signed this year around that time too.

Coincidence I think not. I bet it works though.

I think you would have to very naive to believe that the timing of these announcements wasn't planned.

And why not ? Forest have to function as a business.

As for conspiracy.....what are we talking here 9/11, Holocaust denial, Maca's death in the sixties?

I totally blieve your statement, but I don't blame the club and it doesn't particularly bother me that they do ! The more funds they raise then the better quality of signings we see.

In fact I think I'd be disappointed if they didn't.

I do think there's more in the pipeline. Along the route of shirts and new sponsor. No doubt the new screen (If true) will be announced along those lines !
