Just been talking to an old mate about Forest and got talking about the Gypo who used to run through the crowd in the Trent End middle pen in the late eighties. Long greasy hair, teeth missing etc. Was a right tw*t but funny as f*ck :D :D

"where's the gypo gone, where's the gypo gone, where's the gypo gone, where's the gypo gone"

those were the days ;D

gypo,gypo,gypo.

If you stood at the back of the terracing in the centre pen of the old Trent End you could hardly see the goal at the Bridgford End because of that big white refreshments sign that hung down from the roof over the centre pen, there was a big red arrow on it pointing down into the terraces..crazy!!!!

Gypo? Gypo? The PC Police will get you for that! Don't you mean "an itinerant entrepreneur of Caucasoid origins"? ;D

No that was Noddy, he stood in the East stand, near the Trent End.

...then he transferred to the Trent End pen nearest the Main Stand, and I saw him a couple of years ago sat around about where he used to rock back & forth in the Lower Trent End.

For those to young to remember him, he was a scruffy devil, who usually donned a flat cap and a dirty long beige coat, and would rock back and forth throughout the match. This would increase dramatically when the Trickies turned it on. What a charactor he was.

Is he still with us?

Also, more recently, what's happened to those two fatties who used to sit right behind the goal in the Lower Trent End with hideous luminous jackets on?

That sign was on ebay a couple of years ago for £250, some fella in Lincoln was selling it.

Couple of photos of the old Trent End. I stood in the kids penn for my first ever game whilst my old man joined the boot boys behind the goal :D

Back in the 02/03 season i had a ST in the lower Brian Clough, used to sit next to a scruffy old chap. Hes eyesight was not the best a so used to have his potable radio with him. (more like a boom box than potable radio) regularly seen scrambling about the terracing searing for his batterie as his taped back for his radio would regularly fail. quite a character and a good season, still there the following season any idea? is this the gypo?

There was another character who used to follow Forest home and away in the 80's, I think his name was Dennis and if i remember right he was from Hucknall, he used to wear a red trilby hat most of the time. Anyone know if he's still around?

Whilst we're on characters one of my faves was always "Pink Mac Man" - I remember him being near the front on the upper tier of the Trent End and he wore a fluroescent (sp?) pink pack-a-mac style thing, which looked somewhat incongruous on a getting-on-for-quite-elderly gentleman!
