Anyone go to the John McGovern & Norman Hunter night at Forest last night?

If so, just wondered what you thought of it.

Norman Hunter got his funniest lines out of the way first. Said words to the effect of "you and me have obviously got something in common - I dont like decorating either".

Told a few stories about being at Leeds and his battles with Franny Lee. Took the mick out of their keeper at the time, Gary Sprake. About it.

John McGovern did a turn - nothing really you havent heard before. Does a decent Clough voice.

Interval, then questions about Clough at Leeds.

Hunter said that Clough never gave himself a chance at Leeds. Think the truth lies somewhere between as obviously he wasnt liked after all the things he'd said previously about them.

Interestingly, Hunter claimed that Clough tried to sign him several times after leaving Leeds.

Marthur and Pelling were on a table - shared with Wobin and Mr Chipperfield at the back. Fraser Nicholson hosted it.

Comic at the end was quite funny. About it really.

Wondered if anyone else went and what they thought?

Yeah I was there. Thought the comedian was coming for me until i turned round and saw 'Mr Miagi'. ;D

Norman Hunter seems a nice old bloke and i am sure he is a legend at Leeds, but his stories meant nothing to us. Example being the p-take he did of Gary Sprake - I am sure that would be a source of great amusement in Yorkshire, but fell flat on the crowd last night.

I thought he said Cloughie tried to sign him at every club he went to afterwards - how many clubs would that be then Norman?

Never tire of hearing McGovern tell the story of Cloughie being a lumberjack though! :D
