Seen a lot of rumours (I know, the R word..) around the last couple of days about us signing players. Read somewhere that it was the boards plan all along to keep the high profile signings until the last few days, to have a sudden rush of season ticket sales..
This goes along with BD's statement of not being able to win the league in the first few games etc..

There is now a Nottingham Forest specific section on football-rumours.co.uk..

Chippers made a random comment about Pratley on twitter this morning..

Cardiff fans have made a few comments regarding us on their forum today..

Is something happening or is it just me getting suckered into the transfer deadline silly period?!?!

that no new bid had been put in for prattley or summat like that. only feeling I get atm is there is a storm brewing
 
Loving the positivity Tom. You never know though mate, i do think its a good sign that BD seems fairly relaxed atm, he'd be totally kicking off everyday if something wasn't happening. Be nice to think a whole bunch of artois signing's are just around the corner.
 
Yeh I thought that at the end of the January window. When is the last day we could actually sign someone anyway, Monday?

Nope, no good feelings here.

Been here too many times before... It would seem that Forest have the day off every transfer deadline day. The most exciting thing is the guy who writes the live BBC transfer vidiprinter is a Forest fan so he sometimes has a few amusing things to say! (take what you can get I suppose!)
 
Don't want to crap on anyones strawberrys but on too many occassions have the deadline day been a big letdown.
This year promises to be no different for me I'm afraid.
Lets be honest the TAP have had a crap this pre season and throughout summer haven't they. I hope their paid on piece rate cos they will get next to nowt come the end of August if they are.
 
i hate it on text with the deadline deals where you hope to god somebody slipped under the radar but then feel crushed when it hasnt.i remember when we sold stone to villa on deadline day i had been away for a bit got back on deadline day looked at text with all the hope in the world for a signing only to find we had sold him
 
I'd love to see it, but I just don't think it will happen.

The club have had weeks to make signings, and other than the (admittedly excellent) signing of Radoslaw Majewski, and the recruitment (for six months at least) of Ryan Bertrand, we've done nothing.

Whilst they might be doing the last-minute-wait kind of move, surely it would have been better to get the players we wanted/needed earlier, then blend them in to the team; that way, we might have been looking at a little more than two points after three games.

As others say, I'd be delighted to be proved wrong, but nothing seems to be happening at the moment!
 
I think they will go back with a bid for Pratley for around £1m and get rebuffed.
If the club fail to try and get anyone in IMO it would be nothing short of settling for midtable championship football.
 
forest and the transfer window is like travelling through a baron desert, you see mirages/rumours of something good, but in reality youve realised youve wasted a lot of energy farting about over something that isnt going to materialise
 
ive just past caring, Im desperate to be proven wrong i also hope I will be proven wrong on my prediction of mid table but I just dont know anymore.

in 20 odd years of supporting forest I dont think I have ever felt this down at the start of a season (maybe megsons first season in league one)

The whole of Megson's reign was hardly an excitement filled one.

People are down because of what we acheived last year. I'd just be grateful not to go down again. I hated League One!

If both are true then hopefully the fans will finally see Doughty for what he is and the complete lack of ambition he has for this football club.
