BRING HIM HOME
Elanga have been really good for Sweden this WC, especially based on the back of his PL-season. Swedish-TV talked about him for close to 30 min before the game against France. Forest were mentioned in 10 seconds in the sense that we were a stepping stone from the mighty Manchester United to Newcastle... No blame should fall on Elanga, we are just still a small club in Scandinavia, or at least in Sweden.
Another example of that if I may, I went to a local football game the other week (in Gefle, middle of Sweden). I discussed the game with a couple of guys who declared they "followed Premier League" and they had a Liverpool- and Manchester United-shirt on - of course I proudly mentioned I supported Forest - and they did't even know Forest existed which I, of course, declared as embarrasing - for them.
It will change, and it will change very soon, but I can't believe a Team like Forest doesn't have more supporters in Sweden, especially since Elanga's great stint at the Club! And I agree, BRING HIM HOME, it will be best for all parties involved

I’m afraid I wasn’t able to convert any friends to Forest in my year in Sweden in the 80s as most of the people I knew weren’t particularly into football, unfortunately. But our European Cup wins were recent enough then that we were still a known club at the time and we were shown live on Tippsextra from time to time.
Apropos Gefle, I have friends in Älvkarleby who give me annual reports as to whether each year’s Gävlebocken has survived, been burned down or blown away…
That was my question too! But "following a Premier League team" in Sweden, like Liverpool, Arsenal, Manchester U, Chelsea.. normally means they only care when their is winning, and when they lose or are having a tough time, they just don't care. Especially about the team on the other side on the field.
When we beat Liverpool 1-0 at home in the first season back (Awoniyi), I had a difficult time to discuss the game with my "Liverpool-friends" who had given me a hard time for 23 years..
But I don't care, it was still amazing There are a few people who support smaller clubs, like Coventry, Sunderland, Stoke, even Doncaster (
).. - and those people are more humble.

Elanga has looked great for Sweden. Unfortunately the penny might drop with the Geordies and they'll start giving him game time.
One thing that came to mind last night though was the notion (that I've read on here) that Elanga can only shine in a counter attacking team rather than a possession based team. Was just thinking that is nonsense, Elanga has the burst of pace to beat his man over 10 yards he doesn't need to be running the length of the pitch to use his pace. Not to mention his vision for a pass and crossing ability

Tipsextra is legendary in Sweden, as you know In the beginning, they could only broadcast from the Midlands (and only off-season in SWE), so Forest were shown every now and then. But that was before my time, I am born in 1979 so the first memory of Tipsextra & Forest is the legendary Gary Crosby-goal against Man C/Andy Dibble and the FA-cup-final 1991, that still hurts There could have been some more game, but I don't remember them.Gävlebocken is still a thing, he was eaten recently birds, but no fire for a few years now

I only live about 10 km from Älvkarleby (which, like you mention, is equal to 1 Swedish "mil", the units can get very confusing
). I didn't know of other Forest fans that close by. Outside of England, I have only met Forest-fans on Mallorca (and Trelleborg) before!
