Anthony David Junior Elanga of SWEDEN!!

Newshouse was always a regular watering hole during a friday/saturday night when I was a young un, anagylpa wallpaper had the feel of someone's front room but a nice pint and good music, used to avoid the Malt Cross and the other bar that was on that road, can't remember the name of it, but remember one of my mates nearly got glassed there. It was on the left hand side as you walked up from the market square, near the snooker hall.

I do expect Elanga to now leave as I'm sure Newcastle will have already been in touch with his agent about terms.

Can't help but feel £55m is on the lower side but then again after Vlachodimos/Anderson last summer we clearly have a decent relationship with Newcastle so perhaps there could be other deals at play. It wouldn't surprise me to see us accept a lower offer to limit what Man Utd get and then sign a Newcastle player later this summer for a lower than market value price...

If it is £55 then I ‘ve heard that the add on’s are not included in Man Utd cut-so potentially maybe another 5, 10, 15 mill on adds on that maybe triggered fairly quickly depending on appearances etc

Oscars - round the back of the Imperial I think. Yes it did get a bit lively in there, as did the Malt Cross where Hi Ho We Hate Derby was the regular last song of the night

Percy blocked me and I don’t remember ever even tweeting him.
He blocked me a few years ago for next to nothing too although I think I probably did say something so it’ll have been half fair.

I emailed him, apologised, and he took the effort to unblock me.

I like Percy.

West Ham rejecting £50m for Kudus (5 goals, 3 assists in the prem last year)
Eze (8 goals, 8 assists) talked about with a £68m release clause
Semenyo valued by Bournemouth at £70m (11 goals, 5 assists)
Will be interesting to see what Madueke (7 goals, 3 assists) goes to Arsenal for - doubt it’ll be a small fee

All interesting range finders for a price on Elanga (6 goals, 11 assists), who has more goal involvements last year than all of them, not to mention being younger than all of them, with comfortably the fastest recorded speed of all of them and a model pro. Considered over-priced by Geordie brainiacs at £55m.

If he’s going, don’t get done Forest - big big money to be made here.

Said it before but excluding Salah and Saka he's the best right winger in the Prem. He's also got 2 good season's in a row under his belt. In today's market £55m is a steal. Remember Newcastle paid £45m for Gordon based upon potential.

Chelsea expect over £50m for Madueke

Agree & the numbers back that up too.

The reported fee is too low to be considering, it doesn't seem like a Forest deal - so maybe it isn't as close as the geordie propaganda unit will let you think. Nothing has been said at all from our end.

Yeah that’s what I’m beginning to wonder. The alleged price and the perceived value of that price seems to be driven by the amount of column inches a player attracts - the size of his ‘brand’. We suffer from being in the midlands press vacuum. Madueke hasn’t done much beyond play for Chelsea and threaten to be good one day if he could ever get his head up, and yet they’re bullish enough to demand 50+.

Borderline criminal to part with Elanga for less than high 60s given what people want for his peer group. Newcastle planting articles all over the shop to apply pressure is most likely water off a Greek’s back. It may turn Elanga’s head though, as I wonder if it did last year.

If all the teams are trying to buy talent, develop it and move it on then there’s gonna be stagnation in the 24-27 year old market. No one will buy the finished products and then the whole strategy is in the bin.

Oh if Elanga doesn’t want to leave and Forest certainly don’t need the money then may as well use the opportunity to extract as much oil from them as possible. They want him, then pay north of 70 million bar codes.

I'd be disappointed to sell at £55m. It feels inevitable that he's going at this point, but I hope we can get the fee over £60m at least.

Those figures for the other wingers is is forest can print out and drop in front of the Geordies and say you're going to have to better those fees I'd you want him.
