Sorry, but i found this and wasn't sure where to put it....

Sporting Lisbon are another club to have come in for Pavlyuchenko and the Portugese side are also keen on taking Gareth Bale on loan.

Bale is struggling behind Benoit Assou-Ekoto for the left back slot but the Welsh left back may get a look-in now because of his Cameroon rival’s African Nations Cup commitments.

Does this mean that he won't be joining us then, with Assou-Ekoto going to the African Nations.....?

I care not for people who say both Bale and Shorey would be too much. To have them both down the left-hand side would be ridiculously good at this level.

I think after Bale's performance at Everton people were a little put off him. But the fella's not been able to settle into the side at Spurs since he joined. Like all the other younger players they sign, they have halted his progress.

If he came here, he would slot easily into the left of midfield and be a class above.

Obviously it's probably just wishful thinking, but none-the-less. He'd be a smashing signing. (along with Charlie Adam, Shorey and Dos Santos if we're living in a dream world)

Because of how the game is now days there are a lot of the bigger clubs (and their managers to some extent) that have no time for blooding good youngsters and persevering with them. If a club is struggling at L/Back or R/Mid-Field etc. they will stick a up & coming youngster in there if they haven't the cover but then expect them to go out and buy a multi-million pound player to fill that position.

Manure - Arsoles - Chelsea and others de-value our domestic cups etc. when they want to show off their kids by fielding 8/9 youngsters and when we see them on the telly everyone raves how good a particular kid is but then he's forgotten untill he pops up 2/3 years later when he's been released or sold off cheap - Remember Lee Martin?

Look at Arsenal's starting side against Olympiacos (Lukasz Fabianski - Kerrea Gilbert - Kyle Bartley - Mikael Silvestre - Thomas Cruise - Aaron Ramsey - Alex Song - Fran Merida - Jack Wilshere - Theo Walcott - Carlos Vela) a few weeks ago and how many of these would you love to see at the CG?

Walcott is coming back from injury but at the moment who else has made such an impact or who else plays regularly in the first team? - These are all great young players with bags of potential but where will they be in 3 to 5 years time because like I said - "If Arsenal needed someone desperately to fill a position then they will go out and buy a high profile player to fill that spot" and the same goes for all of our top 6/7 Premier League sides.

The odd 1/2 comes through every now and then but it is a slow trickle. All our top clubs are under so much pressure to be successful or to be in Europe that they need instant success and that is why they buy instead of breed but that didn't even stop Mark Hughes getting the bullet.
