ANOTHER Defensive injury!

Just seen this on the official site...

Joel Lynch is almost certainly out of Nottingham Forest's Carling Cup second round meeting with Middlesbrough - and he could be a doubt for Saturday's date with Derby.

The defender (pictured) suffered a back injury in the first half of the 1-1 draw with Queens Park Rangers at the weekend.

And manager Billy Davies is facing up to the prospect of being without the summer signing from Brighton for the visit of Middlesbrough tomorrow (kick-off 7.45pm).

"Joel came off with a really stiff back," he said. "He didn't train today and doesn't look good for tomorrow and he's touch and go for Saturday.

"It's a disappointing blow but we'll see how it goes Thursday and Friday with regards to the weekend's game."

Lynch's expected absence could see midfielder Chris Cohen slot in at left back again.

This is beyond a joke!

Nick.

Once known as Nick.Doyle.nffc on 'ere.
Sure we could rely on our youngster to step up and be noticed, Aaron Mitchell would be a good canidate for that.
He's tall for a start, just needs to have a good steak down him, a lot of them!

Where the hell is Joe Heath?

And f***ing get Brendan Moloney back as well.

Both are good youngsters and with a few games, will get used to the CCC.

surely if we don't intend on buying any defenders then that is what the loan market is for.
Billy can spout off all the bullshit he wants about having the right players for the club etc. but someone on loan who actually plays in defence has got to be better than Chris Cohen making himself look like a complete tit everytime he gets played at left back

If it looks like Lynch can't play Saturday then it is the most sensible option to put Gunter LB and bring back Maloney.

(Cohen, Majeski and McKenna in midfield. Tyson left wing and Adebola + Earnshaw up front.)

there's a non-callback clause in the deal with Notts, so we can't get him back

I blame David Pleat. Might as well, as he gets the blame for eveything else at the moment.

I thought we were blaming Chambers for everything? When did this change?

Is there the same rules in this cup as the JP Trophy, whereby you have to play a certain number of first teamers?

Perhaps Lynch's injury is similar to those injuries that the 'pride of England' pick up when they can't be arsed to represent their country in a friendly match.

Are you comparing Lynch with Steven Gerrard?

No. That rule is unique to the Johnstone's Pointless Trophy.

We would easily meet any quota of first team players by picking from our enormous cohort of strikers, wide players and midfielders. That would still enable us to rest first choice defenders for Saturday.
