According to TEAMtalk, former Tottenham Hotspur and Nottingham Forest boss Ange Postecoglou is someone the Liverpool board ‘admire massively’, and who would ‘suit the club’.

It’s going to take some effort but if we pull together, we can do it.
Can we edit the posts so it looks like we’re all distraught he’s gone as it’s the best we’ve ever looked under Ange and we can’t believe the results didn’t show it; unity was amazing and any team will be lucky to have him etc…

Every little might just help him become Liverpool boss 🤞

The problem with Postecoglou for us is that he was just so above our level.

I honestly think he'd do brilliantly at a club like Liverpool where the players would be more in line with his methods - I'm pretty sure he'd have them winning 18-17 every week.

He's also great fun in his pre match pressers - loads of lols at the expense of his previous clubs - and he'd win so many that he wouldn't even need to shufflestare at the floor post match like an autistic 8 year old being reprimanded for his sixth playground incident of the week.

Set piece training: "Virgil mate, your jumping too high - let the ball down the work. I want you to plant your feet on the ground, hold your position and let the ball come to you. Yes mate - on the D. I want you on the D, feet planted, looking away from the ball - when it drops onto you then cut back, look to pop it into the keeper waist high and let Ali worry about what he does next. You just concentrate on getting to the half way line mate. And yeah, when youre there push up another thirty yards."

Spurs would be lucky to have him back, apparently.

Absolutely mental.

It was only a few weeks ago people on here were saying that Frank had Spurs up to 3rd so that alone paints a picture and how bad Postecoglou was.

So on that basis thought I'd see where Postecoglou was last year in comparison to this year. Spurs are currently 12th with 18 points.

After 13 games in the 2024/25 Premier League season, Tottenham Hotspur were 7th in the table, with 20 points.
Estimated Tottenham spending
Summer 2024 ~ £128.4 million on incoming transfers. Tottenham’s net spend in summer 2024 was listed as ‑£93.55 million
Summer 2025 ~ £170.6 million on new signings; net spend ~ £124.9 million after sales.

Not much difference, although I suppose 8 points in the Champions League isn't too bad from Frank.

I messaged my Spurs supporting cousin yesterday, just to say hi....

He genuinely thinks it'd be exciting if they took Ange back, and he just needed more time and money.

Please let them do it.
That is so funny: he would get them relegated.

Its 11 points now, they have come from home wins against Villareal, Copenhagen and Slavia Prague and away draws at Monaco and Bodo/Glimt. Very similar level of clubs that they played in the Europa last season.

Personally I would expect them to have maybe 2 more points than they have because their wage bill being double the next highest of the ones they've taken points off. Might find it more difficult to get points from their last two matches as well.

Reading this article makes you see why he will always fail at the top level. No plan b, when players ask about defensive structure, he says, sort it out and tell the other players

Van de Ven 'never expected' Postecoglou sacking - https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/articles/cewjzpwpq0eo

Seems a decent man-manager because players speak well of him, but tactically limited

Basically he surprised teams for 10 matches then it all fell off a cliff when they cottoned on

Spurs fans can hate Postecoglou as much as they want, doesn't change the fact he's been their most successful manager since 1984.

And that's despite the other big names they've had over the years

My manager would have a melt down if he went back - big Spurs fan and every Monday he would come into the office and say he has to go. Please take him back Spurs and give everyone a good laugh

On their biggest forum there is a vote for who'd they'd want to replace Frank, There aren't that many votes TBH and the question isn't a straight choice of would they want Ange back, but currently what they want is the Return of the Poch with 31% of the votes, Glasner with 27% and Xavi Hernamdez (no laughing at the back...) with 20% ... Ange gets 5%.

If I was a betting man I would've put money on them wanting Poch back.

Getting someone in that they have an affinity and connection with might be a way of them turning a corner like it has for us.

They've literally tried every flavour in the candy shop in terms of style and nothing has worked so Poch could be what they need.
