Norwich defender Russell Martin accused Nottingham Forest winger Paul Anderson of taking a dive to earn his side's equalising penalty at the City Ground.
The Canaries had to come from behind to earn a 1-1 draw after Forest opened the scoring with a spot-kick following Martin's challenge on Anderson.
But Martin insisted that Anderson had made a meal of Saturday's incident.
"For me it's cheating," he said. "It's not even gamesmanship. He touched the ball and dived. There's no contact."
Dexter Blackstock scored from the consequent penalty to give Forest a 35-minute lead, only for Andrew Crofts to equalise just three minutes before half-time.
But Martin, who had hit the woodwork twice in the first 10 minutes as Norwich dominated, was fuming about Forest's goal.
"It's got to be stamped out of the game," he told BBC Radio Norfolk. "If I'd made a bit of contact and he'd gone down easily, that's fair play, gamesmanship to me, but when there's no contact at all?

"He's touched the ball, it's gone five yards, and he dived into me. You could call that gamesmanship, but not for me.
After losing 3-2 in their Championship opener to Watford, Norwich are now unbeaten in their last three Championship games to stand seventh in the table on seven points.
Two of those results have been on the road - and Martin insists that this season's attitude towards away games will remain the same.
"Wherever we go, we go to win," he said. "We never go anywhere for a draw.
"Even a place like this, and they're a good, good team. They haven't started great but they'll be up there for sure.
"We've done unbelievably well to come back into it. The penalty could have cost us but it didn't, and that's down to the strength of the lads and the character we've got in the squad.
"It's one of the best performances since I've been at the club. We defended brilliantly and we should have had four or five goals."
 
I'm sure the FA will find us guilty of something or other, fine Ando £250,000 and ban him for 7 years. :(
 
It wasn't Russell Martin that hit the post twice, it was Chris Martin. Bunch of spanners.

Doesn't mention that Dex WAS fouled so the ref missed an obvious penalty, nor Grant Holt's theatrical diving around to try to get a penalty either.
 
well to be fair he has a point it was never a penalty the first one was but there was no way that was.

He plays in the same team as Grant Holt and Wes Hoolahan, two of the biggest divers I've ever seen!
 
Always funny when a player from a very physical side starts crying because a decision went against them for once. The ref was more than generous towards Norwich, they got away with numerous blatant fouls throughout the game and miraculously escaped with zero bookings.

In this instance, Billy got it right by being honest about the first and second incidents, but I don't seem to recall this chap chasing the ref asking him to award the penalty which should have been... funny that.

It wasn't a penalty but Russ Martin is a cart-horse, turns like a hgv, flat footed, very clumsy, very awkward looking in every challenge he makes, he makes it easy for a striker to mug him for a free-kick, Lester would have had a field day with a guy like him.
 
It wasn't a penalty - and Ando milked it and he probably should receive a fine -- but talk about hypocritical.

What goes around comes around Martin -- he's taken a dive or two before himself -- what's that saying about glass houses and stones ... what he's saying is that he is a saint and Anderson is a cheat -- what a joke of a man.
 
As I saw it at the time from BC lower - the first one didnt look like a Pen, the second one did. Although Ando made a meal of it, there def was contact.
 
Interesting how the angle changes things.

From T5 Trent End, the first one was SO clear-cut, SO blatant, that most of us didn't even bother getting up and shouting. It was such a cut-and-dried incident from that angle that the ref could not possibly make any decision other than to award a penalty.

Imagine our surprise etc...

As for the second one - it looked like Ando ran into the back of the defender and fell, and the ref appeared to make amends for the previous decision.

In itself the pen that was awarded was a harsh one, but I've seen softer ones given - it definitely looked like "making up for the first ****ter of a decision" from our end.
 
That's how I saw it too, directly overlooking both incidents in Victor's veranda!
 
Saw in the paper today that the Norwich manager thinks they should have had a penalty when Grolt dived backwards when he was GOAL SIDE of our player with the ball at his feet :D

Again, no complaints about the free kick their goal came from.
