The footage is around somewhere, as I've seen it more than once. If you do get it, watch out for the penalty (the second goal I think), where the player goes for a dive that would make Eduardo blush and the ref rushes to give the penalty - albeit that Kenny Swain isn't even in the same postcode as the person he's supposed to have fouled.
This lad has got the entire game on DVD (see his attachment) if you wish to purchase it. Horrible game both on and off the Pitch, there was the potential for another Hillsborough given the way they had us rammed in on that Terrace and they wondered why there was Crowd Trouble. No surprice that Heysal happened a year later because although Liverpool fans were obviously also to blame, the Belgium authorities didn't seem to have a clue back then. As for that referee

Can you imagine if it happened to them?As far as I know our court proceedings never even got us any compensation when it's very possible that we'd still be a top flight club today had we won yet more European silverware that season.

It was a b****y disgrace when alls said and done. It would have been an all English UEFA Cup Final in 1984 against Spurs which if won would have been up their with our European Cup wins. It had been a great campiagn as well especially beating Celtic 2 nil away and to end that way was just wrong and we've never really had justice and never will

As fans I'm not sure whether our quite acceptance of what went on is admirable or woeful to be honest. They'd be burning effigies in Liverpool.
The way this game - and the fallout that came from it - was handled by UEFA (which actually stands for We're A Bunch Of Spineless, Useless w**kers) makes me really, REALLY angry.

Here's an Independent article from 1997 which reports on Anderlecht being handed a ban from the next European competition that they qualified for. I seem to recall that this ban was overturned. No doubt they bribed whoever decided the outcome of the appeal. :
Surely, at the very least, they can't claim in any list of club honours to be 'UEFA Cup runners-up 1984'?!

I firmly believe if that goal had been given we would be in the top quartet of the premiership. We just missed out on the big money years of tv and prize money and sadly, after that the team was essentially dismantled.
