lets all buy a sadpie!!!!!!!!!!!!

A host of clubs are tracking Notts County star Stephen Hunt, skysports.com understands.

The highly-rated defender is out-of-contract at the end of the season and now The Magpies face a battle to keep hold of him.

The 25-year-old left-footer, who can play full-back or centre-half, has been with County since 2006 when he arrived from Colchester United.

County, though, are now facing a battle to keep hold of him before the transfer window closes on Monday.

City-rivals Nottingham Forest are believed to be one cub monitoring him, whilst Championship rivals West Brom and Blackpool are also said to be keen.

With League One sides Huddersfield and Swindon also looking, Hunt could be on the move before Monday's deadline.

With the Sad Pies already in the fast lane to becoming one of the richest & best teams in the country why do you think Hunt would consider joining the one time famous team of Nottingham Forest?

Yes, he's out of contract in the summer but Hunt will be offered a lucrative contract similar to that of Campbell's - £40K per week plus all the add on bonuses etc. Plus a Beach Hut down at Holme Pierrepont. ;D

Whether Shorey joins us permanently is entirely dependent on us achieving promotion automatically.

Just reminded me of that KWS song "Please Don't go"
Was that actually written with reference to Des Walker leaving ? Or is that just myth?

Apparently not :)

That Des Walker Rumour... When Please Don't Go topped the charts in the early 1990s it was rumoured the song refers to Des Walker departing Nottingham Forest. Chris says that people were always asking them who the song was written about and it was just the office joke that it was written about Des. He says it was just a rumour that got into the public domain.

Go and ask him. Pretty sure he still lives in Redhill, and drinks in the Ram. I was always under the impression that it was just lucky
timing at the time(?? if that makes sense)

KWS didn't write ' Please Don't Go'. It was a cover of a KC and The Sunshine Band song I think. So it definitely wasn't written about Des.

on a serious note, if we don't secure Shorey, i reckon targets should be;

tommy spurr, lee naylor, or andy dawson. in that order.

Sky Sports News: reporting that Wilfred Bouma is now fully fit again.

Warnock can't be far off so let's hope we can get him in on loan by Monday.

For the last two seasons we haven't signed in the January window but waited for the 2nd week in feb when the loan window opens. Teams aren't playing brinkmanship the same then as in January. Wouldn't be surprised if he came then.

But under the 93 day ruling, wouldnt we only be able to get him for another month?

It's a little-known factthat Harry Wayne Casey, aka "KC", is a life-long Forest fan who did indeed write the song in anticipation of Des leaving.
That he wrote and originally recorded it during the 70s is completely irrelevant.

Can anyone shed light on the 5Live radio commentator telling us that Shorey is expected to sign for Fulham? :(

Middlesboro have been linked with a loan deal for Kyle Naughton, surely time for Pleat to use his contacts at spurs to get him for forest until the end of the season. He can play at right or left back so would be ideal.

We won't get Shorey, nor will we get anyone in during January!
Everyone needs to accept that the ruddy transfer panel is the culprit once again!

The transfer panel is a bit of an enigma as far as I'm concerned. Every signing it's made has been good and slotted in well but it seems incapable of doing any business in January. I'm genuinely not concerned about signing Victor Moses but it's clear that we need Shorey. When he arrived, he was the final piece in the jigsaw and securing his services must be the club's priority. If they fail to bring in a suitable left-back, there really will be no excuses.

That seems an entirely reasonable point.

Left back is for sure. We've not started looking good for no reason, its the square peg round hole thing again. We need players that have trained and played in the same position since they were 5, not just 5 minutes here and there.

You're spot on there. Cohen did an admirable job there when he was filling in earlier in the season but he's too valuable for us in midfield. Perch is committed and always the consummate professional but he lacks the composure of Shorey in that position.

When does the loan window open up again? I think we'll get Shorey again once Bouma proves himself again at Villa. So if we indeed sign nobody this window it could work out alright.
