Yesterday i went down at H/T to get 3 Bovrils.

I was waiting in the Que for about 10mins and finally made it to the front.

I was then waiting for another 10mins to finally be served by the staff. Is it just me or are they slow??

During my 10mins wait at the front, leaning on the bar, i said to the woman behind the counter: "Can i be served please" and she replied "WAIT YOUR TURN". "Well i have been waiting my turn and you have seen me here for the last 10 mins" i then said. :D

People behind me were saying the same sort of things but they continued to work at the same pace. Another point, Two of the staff behind there were filling the fridges up, i mean lol, theres only a que right to the back of people waiting. :nowink:

What are your thoughts on the staff on the counters at C G compared to away games>??

Give them enough abuse and they normaly see to you

I often find that the wait to be served is often as long as the wait when they are counting the money you give them.

I think you'll find this is pretty much the same as any bar, in any town, when they're busy.

You either get lucky and get served or you seem to be in a black hole where no one can seemingly see you.

what do you expect when all the staff are asylum seekers?

I think the lesson to learn here is just not to bother getting food or drink inside the ground!. Unless i'm in the ground 45 mins before kick off when things are a little quieter i dont even attempt to queue up for refreshments,, i'd rather wait until i get out of the ground after the match. I've sat in all parts of the ground and everywhere has the same problem.

It is very slow. 2 young slappers working there were more interested in discussing why the pies weren't ready for HT than helping me.

They've always been the same, they seem to think they have all the time in the world.

I always seem to end up with the wrong change aswell, duuuuh!

Half of them are forign ( i have no promblem with forign workers if they speak english however these, well the ones i get served by dont )
The rest are all kids who know nothing about organisation.

As regards to places to comapre....
Swansea was decent and well priced ( cant remeber the ques though )
Man City was probably the best selectiong ( however pricyish )

Sheff wed was the worst ( tiny concourse, ran out of chips, i got the last hot dog, had 2 calculators between about 10 points so was so slow )

Sheffield United was the best I have experianced

I seem the remember the queueing was simple as it was like a metal version of the bank type cordoning off, so no real room for pushing in or getting overlooked :)

Louise Kiddier, on the other hand, never has any issues with serving people in order

They're fine before the game, never bother at half time, the queues are too big.

I find the Bar in capital one corner to be fine pre-match, never really go down after kick off.

The food counter is full of idiots though, I get told off at work for not smiling, but I'm the happiest and friendly person in the world compared to some of the workers on there!

The only problem we've ever had with the bar staff at the CG is once when they told us they couldn't serve my gran a half pint and she would have to have a pint.

We asked if she could have a half pint in a pint glass and they still refused! ... we emailed the club and got £20 worth of vouchers :)

Manchester City was brillaint but expensive and everwhere else I've been have had facilities worse than ours pretty much ...

They just need to learn to put the pies in a bit earlier before night games and to offer a wider selection of pies :)

I agree that alot of them are kids who probably couldn't organise a piss up in a brewery, but I can honestly say that in 30 or so years of going to the City Ground I've ever known them not to be able to speak English.
