Looks like a cross between Perch and Earnshaw.

When he was at Mansfield I always wondered why we didn't take a risk on him then.

He would have cost considerably less then than buying him now!

Not exactly a ready-made solution to our defensive frailties, but potentially one for the future.

Seasiders defender on Forest radar

Nottingham Forest, 18:40, May 19, 2009

Nottingham Forest are reportedly ready to make a move for highly-rated Blackpool defender Alex Baptiste.

The 23-year-old former Mansfield has had an impressive season for the Seasiders and has been linked with a move away to either Forest or Championship rivals Sheffield Wednesday.

Blackpool do not want to sell Baptiste but could be tempted if a sizeable offer for him comes in.

Forest boss Billy Davies is actively on the lookout for new talent ahead of next season and Baptiste is seemingly on his list of targets.

Wonder what price he would be?

Not that much.

At a guess, I'd say Blackpool don't have that much money and have to sell before they buy, so maybe about £350-£500k.

Hmmmm, that's not a bad price really.

I would rather take Shaun Barker , Baptiste were linked with forest when he was on a free. Why pay so much now ?

Because he's proved himself in the CCC.

When was the last transfer window when we weren't linked with him?

It's in his contract that we have to be linked with him every transfer window.

I'm glad I wasn't the only one who thought that about Gardner. Thought he would have at least but it at Poor Vale.

Any Mansfield player who is not in a wheelchair is automatically linked with Forest.

Would be a worthy acquisition to the squad I feel, although I always thought Ross Gardner was going to be the next big thing.

As did I. Only saw him a couple of times but he always looked confident on the ball, not afraid to run with it etc.

Ah well.

Must be something to do with it being mansfield, Liam Lawrence would have cost considerably less back then too.
