Working as a scout under Keith Burt,I really do think this is a great move because as we know like Terry Farndale Alan is from the old bootroom at Forest, part of the furniture.I think its nice to have someone at the club who is mixing the old with the new,Alan Hill saw the Glory days at the City Ground and is back helping the club again trying to find player that can take us up to the Premiership.

Always liked the guy and glad to hear that he's back at the club.

Nice interview with him as well on the OS.

He'll be watching Championship and Premier League reserve games.

Only three posts on the return of Alan Hill yet a thread about Ice Hockey shirts gets eighteen. :D

Thats great news, all we need now is Ron Fenton and Liam O'Kane back!

Ron Fenton, I am sure they just employed that bloke to speak to the media when the great man was either too pissed or or too pissed off.

He was the ultimate "yes man". He made Lawrie McMenemy look like Bill Shankly.

Ron Fenton could of stopped the decline of Cloughie by saying "come on Brian your not very well get some medical help" but as mentioned Ron was Cloughie yes man and he was corrupt as well for his hand in illegal tranfers. He once pockted £45k off a fishing trawler in Hull when he concluded the deal for Icelandic international Toddy Orlgysson.

My thoughts exactly. I met him once at one of the Junior Reds autograph days and he was a really nice guy. He was just milling around chatting to some of the parents whilst the players posed for photos. Always felt that he never got the recognition he deserved under Clough,, but then i think Archie Gemmill and Liam O Kanes contributions probably went a little unnoticed as well.

Probably the nicest bloke in football. Great stuff.

Yep - I used to work for his son and Alan would often turn up at the warehouse to muck in, the next day he might be jetting off to Portugal to do some scouting for Spurs!
