Administration

Sorry if this is common knowldege,

A source from within the club told me that they had spoken with MA a few weeks ago who that there are a few clubs in the division at threat of going into administration before the end of the season, which would incur a 10 point deduction.

Two of those teams are

Coventry
Southampton

I can't remember for the life of me who the third one was that he mentioned but i remember thinking that it wouldn't affect us if they did get 10 points deducted.

I know its a long shot but it would help us out no end should this happen.

Can see Southampton doing everything humanly possible not to incur any point deductions at the moment.

I suspect they would take the risk and take them next season if they can

Isn't there some sort of cut off whereby if you go into administration after a certain date, the points are deducted ahead of the following season?

Charlton lost around £11 million last financial year, and they aren't really using any of their points at the moment anyway! They certainly fit the bill, Coventry too, in terms of they'll be well clear and able to cope with the loss of 10 points.

Coventry will go 23rd if they take a 10 point deduction, 4 points behind us

As much as I'd like to think Coventry could be hit by administration, when Ray Ranson came in, he restructured a lot of their debt, so they'll be fine.

Charlton I could believe. As has been said, I doubt Southampton will bother now, they may well stay up under their own steam.

My mistake there, I thought they'd had some form recently. Get them down here!

Somebody said summat similar a couple of weeks ago, citing Charlton instead of Coventry, if I remember rightly.

Yeah I'd imagine charlton would be the most likely to hit the big A.

There is a cut off point, which I think is the end of March.

Not much time!

Lets eat lots of curry, head to St. Marys and block their toilets!

Charlton are in massive financial problems. If they do indeed sink into administration I have no doubts they'll take the hit this season. That doesn't really effect us though.

The deadline is March 26th. The deadline is pretty irrelevant, though:

If they go into admin before March 26th then they'll be deducted 10 points this season.

If they go into admin after March 26th then their points deduction will be suspended until the end of the season. If the club are subsequently relegated then they'll start next season on -10. If they stay up then they'll have 10 points docked from their final total.

I wouldn't be so sure. The reason that several people have not take over Cov in recent years is the comical state of their finances. Cooking the book doesn't even cover it.

It would make my day if they went into administration. If Cov ever went down a division they would never return.

Charlton is the other alleged one. Southampton and Coventry have been obvious ones. I think even Cardiff would be in contention if it weren't for the sale of Ramsey. I heard Watford were another club in need of cash.

I so hope you're right. I'd love to see that Sky Blue shithouse disappear from my footballing landscape.

Anything you can expand upon?

Southampton's problems are well documented. I make no promises but I'll start asking some questions.
