Sorry if this has already been posted, but the NEP has just announced the squad go into training including McGildrick (number 17) and Adebola NUMBER 9!!! Is this not Tyson's number?

Sure it's not just a training top number? As they rarely match up with actual shirt numbers.

I can confirm that Tyson will be wearing the number 3 shirt for next season, to commemerate the longest number of weeks he has gone without getting injured.

It is well known that squad numbers are not released until about 2 weeks before the start of the season. We always get players wearing tops with various numbers, it doesn't mean they are going to be that number...

Wasn't McGoldrick number 17 at Southampton last year? Maybe it's his preferred number like Bennett and 29?
Also, I'd say it was clever marketing from Mark Arthur. Not many kids will want Adebola on their back whereas I'd suspect quite a few will want McGoldrick with him being the biggest (in value) signing so far. By giving him a two digit number on his shirt he is increasing the amount of money we are making on shirt printing.

Now you're getting it. I'd put Anderson on two numbered shirt still, he'll be quite popular.
Infact we should consult the FA to see if our players nine and below can wear 01, 02, 03, 04 etc... That'll surely fund a premiership push.

If the traning tops are anything to go by and i think they are then maybe Gunter or any other right back will not be purchased...??

Wilson had 6 on in the website, leaving 2 free and im guessing that's for perch? Maybe Billy sees his future there seeing as he banged on about it alot last season? Chambers still had four. I might be taking too much into it but you never know...just a thought?
