A very weak rumour. Stuart Pearce

William.

O.K, just got back from the pub after the game today, spoke to the usual folk including one of the more successful of the locals who has a friend who has a box and invests money into forest. the rumour from him was they are expecting Billy to be tempted by the Scotland job and if so are in talks with Stuart Pearce over the forest job, I will tell you now it was a drunk short conversation but made me think if we did loose Billy would Pearce be the correct man for the job? Surly our defence would benefit from his experience and passion. thoughts?............

Not going to happen , don't think ND rates Pearce since Pearce claimed that he applied for the forest job a while back but ND denied that Pearce ever did applied so it stands to reason , someone isn't telling the truth. So who do you believe ?
Frankly , i'm not interested in having Pearce back either. Don't think he has what it takes to be a club manager and especially at forest.

Stuart Pearce will be announced as manager of a Nottingham club within 2 weeks. But it won't be Forest.

If England fail miserably next summer, Pearce could be the England manager in 10 months. Course he's ready for championship management.
I'm just so glad we never got Keane in the end! I wonder where he's going next

Arnold Town?

"Arnold Town have accepted the resignation of the Manager, Andrew Muldoon and the First Team Coach Bryn Gunn. After four years of loyal and excellent service to the Club the pair have new jobs coaching football within the NHS in various establishments in England. This has now expanded and Andrew feels that he cannot commit the time necessary to continue to fulfill the duties associated with the first team affairs. Both men will continue to support the club in many ways and have expressed their support for the future management.

Chris Freestone and Martin Curruthers have accepted the temporary managerial positions and take over with immediate effect with the Club expecting to make arrangements for a permanent appointment."

He is the next England manager.

However Davies never resigns from jobs.

Managing England can be more straight-forward than managing a club side. Pearce is a great guy and was a truly great player, but this doesn't mean he could cope with the cut and thrust of managing a club on limited resources. As England manager, he would be able to choose the best players in England. We've all seen examples of good and effective club players failing to do it when it comes to management. Roy Keane is, at this very moment, proving my point.......

If Keane had come here he would have brought half of Man Utd reserves with him.

Thats what he did at Sunderland.

He bought McShane, Richardson, Liam Miller, Andy Cole, Dwight Yorke, Eckersley ETC.

At Ipswich he has bought Lee Martin as well from Man United, who I suspect will be on a high wage.

:think:So what you are saying is because he is the next England manager he is good enough for Forest?

Tell me, if Billy was to take the Scotland job would you settle for either Steve McClaren, Sven, Glenn Hoddle, Kevin Keegan or even
Peter Taylor to take the Forest job?

What has he done to convince you he is good enough?

Played and managed at the highest level with considerable success.

I would of thought Strachan would be favourite for Scotland Job. Pearce wouldn't be interested in Forest at this stage in his career.

Nice thought though

Are we sure that Scotland would actually want another Scottish born Manager?

Relegated and sacked isnt success.

Your logic is greatly flawed, you would dismiss Capello as an unsuccesful manager because Madrid sacked him?

90% of managers at some point are sacked.

Success has to be relative to the clubs managed. He guided Man City to the brink of UEFA qualification and he guided England to the European Championship final, and he is Capello's understudy, that is success, and certainly more than enough credentials for any team in the championship, should he choose to take a huge step backwards.

Mourinho and Capello were both sacked due to a fallout with the board, not because of their league positions.

Stuart Pearce is a Forest hero and my all time favourite player, as was Nigel Clough and even he cant sort the sheep out.
Great players and heroes dont always be great managers.

At U21 level he has hundereds of young players to choose from and has alot of time before he chooses his team,
and also has Capello to advise him when needs be.

Put him in the Forest hotseat and it would be a different story alltogether I think. There is more pressure at club level.

Some day he might be as good as Brian Clough, but not yet.
