A summer of transfer frustration?

Could it be a summer of transfer frustration? The reason i ask is that Spurs are now willing to sell Chris Gunter for £3 million instead of a season year loan, also Q.P.R. have now got a new manager and i think Jim Magilton realizes the qualities Dexter Blackstock has also the valuation brighton are asking for Joel Lynch is not what forest are willing to pay. And finally it seems that Preston are wanting to keep Paul Mckenna and don't want to sell him to forest.

Then we have signed Dele Adebola on a free. Have bid for McGoldrick and have not had a response because of potential takeover and just because these initial bids have been rejected or valuations are too high does not mean we won't get them.

yes, absolutely right. its getting a bit boring people saying they are worried already. Two things should be clear to Forest fans. 1-trust Billy, 2-do not trust NEP.

Yes it does, but nothing stopping you making signings, and many clubs have announced signings....the biggest so far being Gareth Barry!

We all blamed Clueless for lack of transfer activity, but as of yet Davies has yet to make a OFFICIAL single permanent signing since he has been here (I do say officially, as it does look like Adebola has signed but still not announced)!

There is nothing stopping us making quick signings, well apart from the wonderful Acquisition team, that is!

By this time last year Calderwood had signed Earnshaw, but then went really quiet after that, and we brought in nothing of the quality of Earnie!

So I am hoping this season it will be the other way round, a steady start with Adebola, then lots of quality signings!

We need them in the squad by July 1st as that is start of preseason training, its only 11 days after that they play Sporting Lisbon, the quicker we can get players in the quicker they can adapt and bond to their new teamates the new manager and staff, the tactics and the surroundings!!

Don't rush it folks, as much as I would love everyone we have been linked with to be signed up tomorrow it just won't happen.

We may miss out on a few players we are after. I think it says alot as to were we want to be next season with the clubs we are challenging with for players signatures. It will be alot harder to get the players we are after this summer with every clubs valuation of their players going up.

The transfer window ends at the end of August now come on there is a hell of alot of time to get who we want, and if we don't get the player we want there is alot of other players that could come in and do the job. I've faith that Billy has his list wrote out and has been doing everything he can to get the players he wants and has another list of players for those that slide away.

Where did all the optimism go from a couple of weeks ago folks? Give it time.

It's frustrating at the moment but there is still time.

Not many of the clubs around us have done much in the way of major transfer activity and so I would expect us to be fairly active later on.

If you list out all the players that we are supposed to have expressed an interest in then we are after a whole new team!

the optimism begin's to wane because we all know of our track record in the transfer market , i thought it was going to be different this year with billy saying he want's his business done early but i'm beginning to think that the player's we end up actually bringing in might be an anti-climax to who we really wanted, i'll be surprised if we end up with more than 2 of the 7 or 8 player's we apparently are in for.

Jeez, normal panic pervades I see. Early yet, very early.Just cos things are not being broadcast all over papers, despite what Preston say, does not mean things are not happening.

Yes he said he wants his business done early, But what you want and what you get are often two different things (especially at Forest). Now in my eyes anytime before July 1st is still getting business done early.

I've faith that Billy Davies will get the players Billy Davies wants.

wouldn't call it panic , just saying that after all the very promising name's we've been linked with or targeting that we could end up with a group of player's who won't be as exciting as the one's we wanted , like i said we'll probably get a couple of them but i'll be surprised (pleasantly ) if we can get more than that , personally i'd love these player's in ....gunter,blackstock,mills,mckenna,anderson & surman , these player's i'd be happy with but not as much of a priority .....jones,mcgoldrick,camp,adebola , i may have missed some but if we get more than 2 from them i'll be happy, i'll be more than happy to eat my word's if we get quite a few of them :)

There have been loads of players mentioned already and the window hasn't even opened yet. I'm still optimistic that we will make at least 4 or 5 good signings and a few of them being some of the loan players from last season, McSheffery perhaps?

I have it from a really good source that we are in for the following players:

Dele Adebola - although he won't come to us as he is too old and too tall.
Dexter Blackstock - although he won't come to us as he is too certain he single handedly saved our season last time.
Chris Gunter - We can't afford his wages. He was after ten quid a week plus all the oranges he could eat.
Paul McKenna - We pulled out after his 'Stop drinking the Paul McKenna way' DVD flopped.
McGoldrick - Refused to come to us as he felt Mark Arthur's collection of Robertson Jam badges from the sixties was unacceptable.
Kenny Lynch - Refused to leave Brighton for a smaller club. Did get the panto slot at the Nottingham Theatre Royal.
McSheffrey - Birmingham recently offered him back to Coventry as a make weight in a deal for the Coventry keeper. Coventry said not as he has been injured since he was born.

All the players we had before have asked to leave as well. They want to play for Grimsby due to the free fish option.

Remember aswell players will still be on hols. Also players will be reluctant to commit, who knows club A may have agreed to sign a player unofficially and last minute a better offer comes in and the player opts for the other club. Who knows it's said all the time there are twists and turns in football it changes all the time and nobody can gurantee anything until it's signed and sealed there is no point in announcing something, there being a big hype to be followed by a major disappointment why do you think that clubs don't usually officially announce bids lodged in for players until accepted and in most cases until personal terms are agreed in case things change. It will just cause disappointment amongst fans it's better for us in a way and the clubs reputation.
