Always liked mcauley, ever since he was at lincoln. Would be a good buy for us, tall, good in the air, talks to his defence. Prone to the odd blunder but certainly a good player.

I think he's got a fairly decent turn of pace from what I've seen, at least better than what I had expected.

Yeah , at 34 , he actually has fairly decent pace . Reminds me of Lee Chapman at times . The way he took the ball off McAuley and bulldozed his way through is similiar to the way i remembered Lee Chapman did to Alvin Martin , took the ball off him and just ran with it with Martin flailing behind him.

Adebola is a decent player, you can't right someone off just because they had trouble dealing with him and let's face it he stopped him scoring one way or another.

Im Glad we have Adebola.

He is like the Taylor figure we have missed for years.

anyway I watched McAuley play for Lincoln a few years ago, VERY highly rated but for Championship?

He does a decent enough job in the championship but not a standout , he was captain of ipswich last season after all but was stripped of the captaincy by Keane when he came in as manager and is now been blacklisted , obviously he and keane doesn't get on.

Just because Keane slags someone off doesn't mean he's no good. Keane is a fool - making it public that someone has no future at your club is plain thick.

He's also said the same about Ben Thatcher and has stuck him on the transfer list as well.

He does it at every club.....he did issue a half hearted apology after the last rant saying it had been blown out of proportion. He had been having a pop at McCauley and Stead both of whom played against us. It just makes Keane look daft and my 2 Ipswich supporting mates are dreading what happens next.

Not writing him off at all and in fact mentioned his experience. Just pointing out a lack of pace which can be compensated for in a decent defence. He could do a job for us a la Colin Cooper but I think BD has grander plans.

If you are going to say the stuff Keane does you need tact (hardly anyone) timing (Davies' criticism of McGugan) or charisma (Brian Clough). Keane has none of these so far.

Teams like us should be mindful of the talent sent fleeing the dressing room as the silly sod rattles his sabre.

I'm sure McAuley did something similar in the CG game last season, pulling Tyson or Earnie back when they were going through, only he got away with it. But, to be fair, that could be any number of CBs with the amount of times that happened.

Would rather not have a CB who does, or has to do, that kind of thing.
