A Midsummer Rice Dream

Was thinking last night about a bit of a European jolly up.

With the news that Tuttlebee has dropped coming to Prague with me in favour of doing some gay in San Francisco, I wondered if anyone else would be up for a bit of a European traip during the summer.

Just thinking something Ryanair, cheap and easy for everyone.

Ideally Forest would be playing somewhere, but I doubt they'd do anything so nice for the fans as to give us an excuse to go away.

Initial thoughts were something like heading to the home town of one of our many foreign visitors. Klinsi has told us all how nice Poland is, for example. We could influx there or something.

Whilst Forest may not be playing in Europe, we could look at a few local football schedules, pick a team who are playing somewhere, buy their replica shirts and Ricify them.

Just at the ideas stage at this point, so no dates, locations etc really in mind, just a bit of a feeler as to whether anyone would be interested in a couple of nights of cheap beer and drunken debauchery in the sun. Al, we can take some real ale for you.

Poland? Sun?

You'd better find some Italian Forest fans or something me thinks, you might have a bit more joy there :)

I am traveling around around europe again. So I can try and sneak this in for sure.

Last year, I thought the scousers were playing Wisla Krakow in Krakow, but it was a swiss tour, so they played in switzerland.

I would definitely be in for this.

Money wise, I'd ideally be looking for something similar to my Prague trip in a few weeks. Flights £19.50 inc tax and booking fees, and then we could look for a hostel similar to when we were in Dublin, which cost us around a tenner.

Lord, what fools these mortals be...

Just to clarify, this is a completely open offer to all. A very much 'more the merrier' sort of thing.

I imagine Robson and Jerome will want in, as they usually like any excuse to don some fancy dress.

As long as I get a new Job sorted out fairly swiftly I'd be up to this as long as it's a country that hasn't had it's prices runied by the Euro yet!!

Are you on about Andy and Mark?

Great nicknames!

If it's going to be super-dooper cheap, then I might come instead of going to Reading!

Are partners in too, or is it just men?

More the merrier, but if you bring her along, I may ogle her boobs again. Just warning you, so you can't get mad.

And yes, Andy and Mark once duetted on Unchained Melody.

I'm definitely up for this after missing the Ireland trip!

The cheaper and drunken the better!

My mobile finance alert yesterday told me of a 30.4% decrease in manufacturing revenues across Germany. With germany being one of the 'support columns' of the currency, I'd expect to see that have some impact.

Add to that the ever nicreasing threat of the interest rates going back up, and it's feasible to say that the strong Euro won't be here to stay.

On top of that, the Czech Republic is on the brink of recession, which should coincide nicely with them joining the Euro.

As I'm sure Tuttlebee will agree, the £ will fight back and soon enough we'll be able to get a pint for 10p again.

Of course, none of this will happen by the summer, so it's probably best to avoid any Eurozone country.

Or we could just go to Tenerife!

It won't be just men! The more the merrier, Lizard!

And why has nobody congratulated me on what I think is a great pun? Where's Rambo when I want some good pun praise?

Yes, top punnage Mr. Crouch.

Back on the subject, I'll have to thank you for the invite, but unfortunately I have to decline, due to having neither the funds nor the time this year...

Bugger that Congo, it's a weekend in the summer, and the cost will be minimal.

Keep an eye out, and if it looks like a goer, and couldbe in budget, jump onboard.

I liked it too, but I thought your ego didn't need the massage!

It always likes a bit of a tickle.

I realise that...however, my weekend and my money are tied up in doing up the house for the forseeable future. There's a lot needs doing, as we're looking to sell up and move somewhere bigger, in anticipation of a new addition to the family, before the end of the year.

The end of the year is less than 9 months away, Congo.

Something you're not telling us?
