I recommend Upper Trent End for people who are getting their first ST next season. The seat I'm sitting in now in the Upper Trent is the best I've ever sat in. The atmosphere's pretty good and you get a nice clear view of the pitch!

Found this quote and decided it deserved a new thread. What's rubbish  Good atmosphere? If you like funerals.

As we've got little to get excited about Sunday, do any of you pussies in the BC, Trent End or Bridgford stands fancy a sing-off with the superior boys & girls of A-Block?

We could get Simon Cowall in to judge how shit the rest of you are.

Come on, bite you buggers....

A block would only sing if we were playing Leicester...

Bite? Me?

Don't diss the Upper Trent.

Not our fault the acoustics are crap.

We're really loud, you just can't hear us.

No offence here, and I really do love my A block and hate standing/sitting anywhere else, but the atmosphere in there is crap compared to what it was even 5 years ago let alone the mid 90s, the problem with A block is when your in it, it seems like the loudest place on earth, yet when out of it and sitting somewhere else in the ground you have to starin to hear whats comming out of it.

I too naively thought A Block was loud and sat there for years, then I sat in Cap 1 Corner and realised what a fool id been :)

Atmosphere in the Upper Trent is excellent. I experienced it when I was Liz's sister the other week. I do like A block though and look forward to being there Sunday.

If you sing in the Brian Clough Upper, you stand out like a sore thumb.

Does it really matter which part is best?

I had a season ticket in B block, it was great, and I like to venture into that area every now and again.

But I'd rather have a season ticket in Upper Trent, purely because its different, I got very bored in B block. And because a lot of people on the forum are up there. :)

Are you mixing your metaphors again, Mrs. Pepperpot?!

Liatroim_Red have you actually sat any where else in The City Ground? ???

Yep, all the stands mate. I like to sit in the Bridgford to see the bats hibernating in in Autumn. Then usually take my flask and shawl to the BC for winter.

I haven't sat in the Upper Trent for about 8 years or more, i can't remember how it is, from t'uther end it doesn't sound too loud, although as you are looking at it from a block , there is a man you can see getting up and gesticulating widely every now and then (just close to a flag hing)
A block and Cap Corner seem the same to me. Brian Clough, oh jesus, twice and never again

I had to sit in both brian clough upper and cap one corner for both the derby games this season, both games that A block would of been up for big time and guess what I could hardly hear a thing comming out of there yet, trent end upper and cap one corner could be heard all over the ground.having a go at fellow fans over which end is better is a tad daft. A block used to be able to outsing the likes of tottenham, liverpool, everton, newcastle ect ect in the early mid 90s this season derby outsung us on our own turf. before having a go at other fans maybe concentrate on bringing A block back to its former glory as its a shell of its former self

Banter, that's all. There was me thinking folk might be in a good mood with a bit of humour to spare given our easy street life as a U Red. Ah well...

Donning my serious hat, you raise a good point there though about the A-Block. It's decline did appear terminal as so many of the old guard were repeatedly chucked out (and then priced out) that it has lost its way a bit. However, I think there's a bit of a revival going on, as the stewards (whilst still anything but perfect) seem to have backed down a little.

I've a good feeling that a new generation of A-Block boys & girls are just around the corner, whilst the rest of us hold on in there and continue to make it the loudest/funniest/most passionate place to be in the CG.
