Hi I'm a new member and I just wondered where people think Forest will end up this season considering the teams current form :)

As soon as I saw the title if this thread I thought - " far too optimistic". f*** off, we don't room for this optomism at LTLF lol

it depends on how long Billy Davies keeps playing people out of position and using negative tactics, if he can get his head out of the clouds and play simple stuff then i think we can win quite alot of games.
we need to stop playing to the oppositions strength's and start playing to ours

If we start converting chances then we'll be comfortable, if we get a CB and a LB in on loan as well then we could challenge in the play offs. If if if's , but! change is on the horizon.

Nail on head. Scoring and solidifying our defense are the only 2 points we need to think about. Everything else (including that Aston Villa winger on loan) can wait. If we don't sort those points out soon, we're scraping the bottom of the barrel till Jan.

It's funny, we have almost the exact same team as we did towards the tail end of last season only with more options. What went wrong?

We now have a rotation policy instead of playing our best 11. I understand the wish for a larger squad but if you have 11 players doing the business then keep with them, if there is a dip in form or an injury then players need to take their chances.

:)

Oh and welcome to the forum :hi: :hi:

Still hoping for mid table ::)maybe our fortunes will change when Mejewski is fit again?
I can't see how another winger will change things though when Anderson can't get a game?

Here's to hoping all will be good.

mid table with some frustrating home displays, yet I can actualy see us staying unbeaten away from home for a while

I can't remember where I read it, but someone posted that BD teams always have slow starts, there is no doubting that this season's start has been dissapointing, but I think we will pick up and finsih somewhere aroung 9-11.

I think eventually we'll click and finish comfortable mid table.

14th or 15th for me. We are better than last season but there are still too many issues for us to make any real impression on the league this year.

First thing I want us to do is play some decent football and get Anderson on that wing! Why he's been dropped I do not know! With a settled team, we can finish mid table but I certainly won't be saying we can make the play offs! Two wins on the bounce very soon would be a nice start though to getting up that table!

Easy! on current for they will achieve 41 points that will see them relegated in 23rd spot based on the last five seasons final tables! FACT!

In the "Forest's odds are dropping for the title" thread back in July, I said:

Save your money until October. We won't get a good start, Billy's teams never do. Look at his record at Preston and Derby - 3 consecutive seasons in the top 6, but only 7 wins combined in the first 30+ games in those 3 seasons. Our odds will drift, then we'll pick up and then it'll be time to count your money.

I'm following Forest's progress from afar. I couldn't believe it when I read your post; why has Anderson been dropped? He appeared to be streets ahead of anybody on the pitch from the highlights of the Sheffield Wednesday match that I saw on BBC's FL show. I was even thinking how good he'd be on Sunderland's wing and congratulating Davies/Forest on snapping him up at such a snip of a price. I am fully behind Billy Davies but this decision seems inexplicable.

You know as much as us. Anderson is clearly our best winger, but BD chooses to play Cohen, a central/left midfielder in front of him on the right wing. It's absolutely barmy.

Billy Davies rotation policy states that no striker or winger can play two games in succession, in case of tiredness

But if he could show you that come March and April, when Tiredness really counts, that we will have a fit team than can push on and climb the table at the right time would you accept that his opinion on this matter is more considered than yours?
