And no new defenders. Disappointed to say the least.

And only a week to go until we can bring them in on loan, and sign them in January.

Lets not get downbeat too hastily

I thought the loan window had been withdrawn this season?

How can you be disappointed? We never sign anyone on deadline day. Anyone who still managed to get excited and disappointed is a little bit naive or a glutton for punishment.

There's no point in us rushing when the loan window opens next week.

Good news for us is our players are still here and if players like Bale, Shittu etc are to go out on loan it will be to the championship. Clubs like Portsmouth and Birmingham are out of the running.

Oh, right. That's okay, then.

Not quite.

We can only loan players for a maximum of 93 days, so if we want to loan them with a view to buying them in Jan, then we'll have to wait 'til the very end of September.

Don't look good though does it. If we can't get them now, why should we get them next week?
Clubs waiting to see who they can get in to replace them.

Not to my knowledge. It's been stated elsewhere that it opens next week. That's why Billy has been talking about us getting the majority of our players in on loan. I doubt we would have left signing 2 or 3 players until deadline day

Does that really rule out Bale to another prem club then? I hope so. It could be us versus toon

Yeh, Prem clubs can't loan outside of the two main transfer windows.

I don't understand the stories linking him to Newcastle. Jose Enrique is the best full back in the league, and has pledged his future to the club. Bale might get a game in midfield, but why not come to us?

Also, the Shorey deal falling apart could be good for us?

Makes sense that they would sort out squad and then let players go out on loan after the 'dust has settled'. Am I right in thinking that loan deals can be turned into permanent outside the window?

We did a future fee type deal for Nathan G Tyson.

Yeah your right, we can still take players on long term loans with views to sign

Players loaned during the transfer window can be made permanent at any time.

Players loaned during the loan window cannot be made permanent until the next transfer window.

So, if we loaned Bale next week, we could sign him permanently in January, whereas we can sign Majewski permanently at any time.

Good.....well the 'experts on Vital are nudge nudge wink winking that Bale and Dawson are still coming in on loan and that Sonko nearly came but chose Prem football.

So if true all good. However, yet again they should not be printing things as fact as they did with Sonko, until the deal is done.

Not quite. If we were to loan him next Wednesday (which is when the loan window opens), his loan would only be able to run to the 11th of December.

But by then we would hopefully have Wilson and Lynch back to fitness, so should be able to cope for a few games.

Fills me with great belief!!!!!!!!

I really do hope we can get in some decent defenders in the loan window!

In a strange way this could show we actually have more ambition. At least we didnt panic buy some shit in a that'll do us kind of way. We are obviously looking for quality and thats why we've missed out so far. It shows we are competing with bottom prem and top champ sides for players which is a massive step forward. The quality will come.......
