5 new signings....maybe?

Abit at the bottom of the league paper report of forest 1 posh 0 :)

David Kelly talks about home form then added.
When you are in a position of strength, then you aim to add to that, which is what teams like newcastle and wba did when they brough in six players each in january.
we're made plenty of calls this week and we've got a list of five players we're arming to bring in ourselves.

I'd imagine they're looking at making three signings but have a list of five.

We have two already in Raddy and Boyd, so could only field three more. I think.

I guess if Raddy was turned into permanent deal and one of players was non contract like Tosic or Ball then 5 is possible. More likely list of 5 from which they expect to sign 1 or 2.

i think we only need 2, and DM and LB. Just enough to see us through to the end of the season, where we can then maybe sign them permo and strengthen the squad around this.

Think we could do with a couple of central midfielders actually - that'd enable Moussi and Raddy to be rested when needed and for Cohen to still play out wide if needed.

One defensive and one creative.

Would also mean you could have Moussi and one other behind Raddy in a 4-5-1 away from home against teams like Newcastle.

I like the way you have factored McGugan out of the equation, not that I blame you. Based on his performances at Preston and Donny he is not worth even a place on the bench.

Agree your post though, fatigue is going be a major hindrance over the next hectic few weeks.

I'm basing it on Lewis' current standing within the side. It seems to be non-existent now.

The only new signing before the end of the season will be Raddy.

Suggest that Moussi also be 'factored out of the equation' - or am I the only one that believes that he just is not good enough. Not quick enough in movement or thought.

He's just needs to find consistency, he's not been playing bad of late.

and as for giving ball away its hardly his fualt that those around him are static and not moving into space.

Whilst he is wearing the garibaldi red he will get my automatic support. I understand that the squad is now paperthin but Moussi is just not good enough.

I can only agree with this assessment.

Some of the performances Moussi has put in this season have been up there with the best from any player, but there seems to be very little middle ground with him.

He's either outstanding and completely bosses the midfield, decimating anything in his path, or is completely shocking; looking like he couldn't trap a bag of cement and making a 10-pass look like the hardest thing in the world.

I worry about having to rely on him in a Playoff final. He might put in an outstanding performance, or cost us the game. Probably a risk Davies would not like to take if possible!

With all this talk of new loan signings, I would say that a defensive midfielder should be top of the list.

I think moussi's main problem is his inability to move with the ball. Every time he gets it, even if hes in miles of space, he stops dead and spins around and plays the ball. It really breaks up the flow of our attacks, as mckenna is very adept at playing the ball forward first time. Moussi isnt sadly.

He provides a vital physical presence at the moment though :)

OK! We learned last season that there is no rule about only having 5 loan players, but you can only have 5 in the squad on a matchday! There's a big difference...

My bet would be on

Matt Jarvis
Leon Best
Neil Danns
Victor Moses

We signed Blackstock on loan just before deadline day last season, so gives me hope we will sign someone else of similar quality.

No wonder my post count..
When does the loan window close again?

So, today's the final day of the official loan signing window.

I've resigned myself that there will be no surprise new additions to our squad by close of play today unless Billy is furiously arranging contracts as I type.

Despite our fantastic winning home form we continue to struggle away and as we're teetering on the cusp of automatic promotion winning our remaining games is vital.

Ahead of Monday when we come up against Newcastle, I had really hoped we'd have a new name to spice things up a little and lift our tired legs and weary confidence for a last minute push.

Do you believe the club have given up on automatic promotion and are playing the game for the playoffs?
