Yeah I did, he talked a lot of sense. Said why we didn't get Shorey in January and said the chairman is working hard to bring another two to the club when asked if forest where going to get another signing before the window shuts.

Also played a bit of an interview with Billy Davies that's going to be in full tomorrow on BBC radio 5 tomorrow. He had a go at the transfer panel.

Why couldn't we have offered to pay his wages? Would have been far better then spunking £500k on Boyd which is probably a comparable amount of money. If we'd done that we could have maybe got the deal tied up before anyone else could jump in.

He said "it could unsettle the rest of the team if you get a guy in on prem wagers" True really the other guys then start thinking things like I score the goals, I set them up, I save them wanting more. Why should he get maybe nearly 2 times more than some of our other top players. And let's be honest three times as much is probably right.

Sounds like whatever we did he wouldn't have come really, a bit like now, which is fair enough, I agree with Pleat, seems more trouble than it's worth, getting someone in bertrands mould would have been nice though, obviously he himself was not available. We also didn't end up paying that much for boyd,as it was a fee that scaled with appearances according to Congo, who is spot on with his pboro info usually.

Of course Billy says we need 3 players....we did last January even though we were joint top of table. He was proved right we didnt get go up! Its not a tactic, it is a fact. We still need players now...not a tactic piss the chairman off....its a fact!
Would have paying Shoreys full wages (which would be approx been £500k till the end of season) really break us? Not having him certainly did, in fact may have cost us £100m promotion party!
He said they only want to target quality players / best players at other clubs....but then says they are not prepared to pay what clubs want for their best players...no wonder they refuse to sell them to us!
No wonder Billy gets soo frustrated and angry when he has to deal with Pleat!

He's winding you up.... Pleat said nothing of the sort... He simply said when asked the question about signing a big player, "The chairman is working hard to get a 2 players in" Now that tells me it's likely to be Prattley and Whitts but the deals are far from being "done"

No way did Pleat ever say he was bringing in a signing 100%. He didn't mention Whittingham, Cardiff City, a winger or even a "big signing". He simply said "the chairman was working very hard to bring 2 people in".

He comes across very well in his interview to me, I think he's the common ground between the footballing aspect of the club and the business aspect, of course as fans of the club we all see Nottingham Forest as a football team and want to see it challenging with the best teams in England and Europe and I'm sure so does ND, but at the end of the day Nottingham Forest FC is also a business being run by a very successful businessman who's interest is in giving Forest sustainable glory rather than a season of it! As for the wages situation, if you start paying one man 30k a week, everyone else who you want to bring in see's that and thinks 'hold on a minute, they can pay 30k wages, why should i settle for 6k?', look at Portsmouth, they wanted a calibre of player and to get them were willing to offer wages they just couldn't afford to pay to a whole team and it may have given them 1 good season but look at the mess they're in now.

Well sorry may have misheard but he said it at that was a silly name (although Doughty called it that in his interview) was just a group of people who discuss players and compared it to Arsenal. NOW I am sure Arsene Wenger wouldnt be turned down for any player he really wanted.
At the end he seemed to say that any players signed are only brought in on the managers very clear say so of manager, and no player is brought in without the consent of the manager and that is very serious Accusations that any manger should make....has Billy made an accusation, dont think he has pubically?

Hearing ND and Pleat combined with Billy makes me feel there is a genuine respect there, Pleat mentioned that Billy will say anything to take the pressure off of the team, as any good manager will.
I have faith in the set up and we will go on to bigger and better things in the years to come.

I think he was referring to other clubs rather than Billy, Billy has always stated he gives the 'people who do the **** they do' the targets and he waits.
Of course when, like january, we fail he will say things, but that is his right as a manager.

after listening to Pleat and ND on the goings on regarding transfers i feel a lot better. Looking back when i was like a lot pissed of with the broad , you just have to say well Billy is just doing what he does and should just calm down a little as some fans like the one who bring signs to games slating Pleat and co, take what he says too serious.

Great interview by pleat, he always seems to come accross well in interviews. And gets an unfair amount of criticism.
