until the emergency loan window closes. Billy said that he may have to try the loan market but doesn't seem to be linked with anyone and after Thursday it's too late.

With Blackstock injured, McGoaldrought injured, Tyson ALWAYS injured and Earnshaw made of glass we are left seemingky pinning our hopes on a 35 year-old who, with the best will in the world, can't be expected to play for 90 minutes in every game until January. Perhaps Niall Rodney will step up to the plate although he is still a very raw talent.

I reckon Billy has got to swallow his pride and acceopt that the loan market is his only option despite his mis-givings. I have been told that a loan deal for Andy Reid was all tied up but Billy refused it - I can't understand why he is so reluctant to utilise the only avenue available to him for the majority of the year!

Cat see us getting anyone in that timel it takes us at least 6 months even u should know that. The targets we will get in january are the ones we were checking out in the summer lol
 
Looking at our games running up to Xmas we should be able to sneak enough points to keep us in touch with the Play-off zone with the squad we have, which is probably what they will do.
 
Just thinking, last season we hardly got any goals from midfield, now we're gerrin' loads from there, but the strikers have hit a dry spell. Can't they bloody well synchronise :)
 
Can't get excited about this particular window. Not a hope of signing anyone. You have all been moaning that Billy doesn't give the youngsters a chance anyway.

When I played Football Manager 2011, there were all these reserves that I had never even heard of.
 
Despite him apparently not having a recall clause I don't think it's impossible we'll get garner back. Huddersfield don't seem to want him so may just decide it's in everyone's interests to cancel the loan.
 
I'm preying that we sign Bednar from WBA. Proven goal scorer at this level and wants regular first team footie.

Come on Billy, swallow your pride and recognise that we desperately need another body up front. Dele is great at holding the ball up and winning flick ons but is never going to last 90 mins. Earnie is class but injury prone and struggling for goals, whilst Tyson would be better off at the Olympics.

For a few fans he can't do any right. But for all his effort and nuisance causing I thought he did well enough when called upon. His finishing is gash, but that's a given.

Agreed, and at times he can be somewhat scapegoated but i feel that the kind of team that we are aspiring to be (playoffs / top 2), there is no place for a striker who does not score or a winger who cannot cross.

They could send him back but he wouldn't be allowed to play for us.

He's registered to Hudds 'til Jan, that's how 'standard' loans work.

That would also mean they'd still be paying whatever proportion of his wages they're paying 'til then too - presumably Forest could waive this part of the agreement in exchange for transferring the registration back? Is that do-able.

I don't think so.

'Standard loans' can only run between registration windows - Full season (summer 'til summer) or in this case half season (summer 'til January). So Garner can't be re-registered as a Forest player 'til the January window opens.

It happened with Lee Martin a few seasons back. We'd essentially let him go back to Man United way before his loan had ended but he was still 'our' player.
 
Same old story, I might not use the internet in January just so I minimise the chances of getting my hopes up :(

Not a bad idea. Although I never fully expected us to sign Bednar that is more a testament to our lack of ambition than anything else.

Still, young Niall Rodney might be 'like a new signing'.
