I think signing the Swindon kid would be a mistake. He's only been playing in the football league for a year, taking up to a high flying championship team would be a nightmare for the kid.

We could have local derbies against County, Mansfield, Chesterfield, Ilkeston, Eastwood, Hucknall, Dunkirk and LTLF FC. :excited:

Because the likes of Pearce , Birtles , Keane etc doesn't have humble beginnings. They all came from champion's league teams straight away. Just because someone is playing in league one doesn't automatically mean that they are crap.
Imagine if West Brom had your mentality , they wouldn't have bought Dorrans who is now the best midfielder in the championship. If they are good enough , it doesn't matter what league they are in. We should never overlook potential gems in the lower leagues , it's fine and all we keep going after pie in the sky signings like our club had been doing in january , can you really say that they will perform accordingly ?
All i am saying is that we should never overlook the lower leagues. Roberto Martinez made a career out of plucking unknowns from the lower leagues and making them work.

McGoldrick wouldn't score more goals that Grant Holt or Beckford at that level. When he was on loan at Port Vale 2 seasons ago, he only scored twice in 18 games.

My attitude is don't sign players just because they've had a decent season in a shit league. I never said we should overlook the lower leagues but its rare you get players that are good enough for the Premiership there. You're the gimp that was going on about champions league players not me.

You sign lower league players and you'll eventually become a lower league team. They're lower league players for a reason.
