Not a remotely reliable source.

Can't think that we'd pay a transfer fee of £3m for a player clearly not wanted, particularly considering we'd need to smash our wage structure.

no way we would pay that imho, I was expecting that to be our tottal outlay this summer if im honest

Think £2m would be more than enough to tempt Villa personally.

shorey is defo worth 3m! Jeez, you don't pick quality up cheap you know! And imo i'd be expecting us to spend at least 6m this summer.

No wonder my post count..

And then lose more than that over the course of the season if we get Shorey in probably.

We got Camp and Ando for a combined fee of £400k last season. The transfer panel gets the best deal it can for players and isn't prepared to pay a daft price for players.

We could get Shorey for half of that IMHO.

The panel should see the difference in the side with and without shorey and in my opinion that is worth 3m. I would class that as a bargain. Sign him up!

Reported 2.5m in the daily mail by the way.

And is he worth destabilising the whole squad by earning 2 or 3 times our highest earners?

TBH any natural, half decent championship left back would look good in our team. Would also be a fraction of the price as well.

£3m for an out of favour LB is quite frankly stupid and I'd look elsewhere in al honesty.

Not a reliable source here at all, but my Villa supporting mate doesn't reckon Shorey is on more than 20k a week.

If that was the case, he wouldn't be on that much more than, say, Earnshaw would he? I have no idea what Earnie earns here and am in no way suggesting this figure is correct, just wanted to chip in with what I heard!

theres no way earnshaw is on anywhere near that amount. id be suprised if anyone in our squad was on anymore than £10k tbh and thats being generous

Get him signed asap forest. why are fans moaning about it? In my eye's he's worth 3m but it be great if we got him abit less. we need a good left-back,he's a very good left-back so why moan?

Not moaning, but if we have a finite transfer pot I'd rather not spunk it on one over-priced player :)

Would love to sign Shorey, but not for £3m.

Maybe we could agree deal at worth 3m but say 1m upfront, x after so many league games, rest when we go up.=3m

With a bit of work we could get Villa down to half of that. £1.5m and it's a fantastic value. £3m is far too much and we could get a good enough LB in this league for a sixth of that price.

I think he's worth it, I was a big fan of his. He brings a lot to this team. He did vey well in the games I saw for Fulham as well.

Mm I dunno, imagine working the same job as someone in your office, shop, wherever, maybe specializing in slight different areas and yet they are earning 2 or 3 times your own wedge. How does that make you feel?

£3m is ridiculous money. £1.5m is a more realistic valuation, and even then I'd feel that we could pick up a younger more enthusiastic equivalent.

Has anyone considered that maybe the players have gone to the top brass and told them they want Shorey back?

He'd be worth every penny but, as this is Forest we're talking about, it simply won't happen. There'll no doubt be plenty of posturing from Marthur saying we've tabled a bid that's more than generous in order to shift season tickets, he'll sign for someone else, Marthur will state that Forest did all they could and it will transpire the next day that we offered £200,000 (with half of that being subject to him making over one hundred appearances).
