25 man squad affecting our activity?

First Team Squad
Could the new rule in the Premiership concerning only having a 25 man squad be affecting our activity in the transfer market?

Could we actually have the 3-5 stellar signings lined up and are waiting to take them on loan from the Premiership?

I for one would certainly would love Pratley and whitts to sign but none are proven and no premiership teams have gone in for them probably due to the fact that this year their squads need to be cut not added to and only the very best top quality players eg Milner etc are moving.

Does the lack of activity mean we are waiting to bolster our team with premiership players instead of unproven gambles?

Just trying to be positive.

Even through all the gloom, someone manages to be this positive. I salute you, sir!

Sebs posted an excellent list of all the Premiership squads which showed the hope of signing some excellent players outside the 25 to be a bit of a myth really.

It doesn't put anyone who wasn't available to us before on the market, because if you're of the age to be affected by the rule and you're not considered to be in the first 25 best players at the club, you generally aren't that good.

I'd be looking at Wigan or West Ham as the most likely to go bidding for the likes of Whittingham or Pratley at the 11th hour if they haven't managed to bring in anyone else. I'm guessing that's what the players and the clubs are hoping/assuming will happen.

I've just read that the squads have to be announced at 5pm on the 1st September, 24 hours after the transfer window closes - I would've thought it'd make sense to have them announce the squad BEFORE the window closes so teams in the Championship can get a better idea of who will be available and tie up some 6 month loan deals

The players likely to be available are gonna be either ****e or just kids. If Billy wants to add experience to the squad then I doubt we will be getting many loans from the prem (so not so many Nicky Shoreys but more Lee Martins)

loan deals can be made after the transfer window has shut, up until the start of december if i'm not mistaken

Yeah but only on 3 month emergency loans. If we go in for some of these they aren't likely to happen until late September, as that would take the player through until the January window opens.

ye stuff Patrick Viera ,hes ****,cant lay the ball off ,cant run and would be terrible in the championship!!!!

can also see him playing for Man city week in week out and keeping the likes of Milner, Kompany etc out of the side!!!!
