2026-27 preparation - hopes and dreams

I'd appreciate some decent scran in the City Ground.
Agreed - think we miss a trick here getting decent food carts and stuff

I know it's a bit prawn sandwhich to some, but actually going to a game is a rare day out for me, usually with at least one child in tow, and having a nice walk around to soak up the atmosphere, and some good food, are nice perks.

As I said when Murillo signed his new contract, I don't think as fans we give enough credit to the family feel and closeness of the squad and club. These players have seen 2 highly touted important players in Johnson and Elanga leave the club for big fees and both have seen their careers stall and them not enjoying football.

The players at the cub will have seen this aNd it will give them pause for thought, as at the end of the day whatever the job we'd all prefer to go to a happy workplace and have a good laugh.
Johnson might not be playing as often as he was but he's picked up 2 European medals in 2 seasons so a bit of a stretch to say his career has stalled.

The problem (?) with being safe from relegation by Christmas is that it comes with the hope of CL qualification. Doesn’t sit with the “dream” some folk seem to have of mid table anonymity…

Fair point, but he has gone from being the focal point of a team and favourite of the fans to being a bit part player at 2 different clubs where the fans can't stand him. I suppose it would depend what really matters most to Johnson really, being miserable at work but getting a couple of medals or enjoying his football again.

I'm still surprised Spurs let him go to Palace to be honest, he always seemed capable of getting a goal for them.

Have you seen the imbeciles running Spurs?

Competent, they are not.

I'm exploring the idea of visiting Nottingham for my 50th birthday, so can I PLEASE have a home game on/around August 29? And 4 tickets please.

You might have to explore the hospitality options if you need that many together - it won't be cheap, but as I also found out, you're only 50 once!

I've heard about that. Do you have to contact the club for it? Look, it's all going to be ridiculously expensive anyway. I just looked at the fares for the flights to and from England and I think I had a mini stroke. :ROFLMAO:

You can go here: https://www.nottinghamforest.co.uk/hospitality and register your interest for 2026-27 and then once it is sorted and the fixtures announced, you will get communications from the club.

And yeah, flights. I've just booked some flights for me and my daughter, Germany to UK as I'm taking her to see her Grandparents over the summer, and the price for just the two of us, return (including a suitcase each) was over €800! 😔

That orange w**ker in the White House has a lot to answer for.

Honestly, an awful lot.

Thanks! We'll try it! The idea of being at the City Ground for my birthday is so mindblowing to me right now that I can't even begin to think about it.

I did hospitality a few years ago, gosh, I thought only a couple, but the time has flown past, during our first year back up when we played Southampton. I was desperate to see us in case the worst happened. It was hideously expensive for an OAP, but in the end well worth it.

Not only because we won, but for the meal before hand; the chat amongst the assembled odd bods was great. I sat next to a Malaysian who had flown in from KL for the day! Bonkers. Good seats and stuff afterwards to allow the traffic to subside.

You're young, but now 50 seems like the end of the world, so I say go on, celebrate the end of the World!

Edit: I went on the Board Room deal.

I’d also really like to have our starting keeper wear #1.

For that matter, can we have a fullbck in the #2 shirt.

Is that too much to ask ?

You guys care too much about these things, what's wrong with good ol' #26? :giggle:

It's not over, but time starts going by a lot faster somehow. I can assure you that this does happen in the decade from 40 to 50. :ROFLMAO:
Just imagine how fast it goes when you're over 80! John Mortimer quoted in one of his books there seems to be only five minutes between breakfast and lunch.
