Couldn't help noticing - winning the league using only 16 players - what a fete.

Yep, there was re-enactors, a falconry display and one hell of a raffle.

My lasting memory of that season was the very first game at Goodison. When we ran out their fans were singing 'Lambs to the slaughter' - we soon shut them up and came away with a 3 - 1 win

As a 'younger' fan i never realised that we'd won the league quite so comfortably. Always had it in my mind that the game at Coventry was last or second to last game and we actually 'needed' the point.

What a team. To win the league so clearly having just been promoted is an incredible achievement, having not seen it i can scarcely believe it ever happened. Must've been amazing for the guys on here who were lucky enough to witness it.

We had no idea just how good it was going to get, Goodison Park seemed absolutely packed that afternoon, or maybe just our section..............who was it said the bubble will burst, was it Mick Mills just before we stuffed Ipswich 4-0 at home or Bob Wilson ?

I think Villa away, some time around Easter, Forest won o-1 and the teams around us all dropped clangers. Burns handled as clearly as Henry the other night to stop a certain goal, Ref missed it, I think after that night I started to believe the unbelievable

Remember the "Forest's Bionic Bubble Will Never Burst" banner? Saw that on Star Soccer a few times, man we were good! Happy days!

interesting that home attendances weren't that much bigger than they are now at the start of the season. compared to the rest 29,000 against derby is pitiful

Two things changed the face of football, Stadium changes that were bought about after Hilsborough, stopped the game's cloth cap image and Euro 96, which attracted thew chattering classes to the game. As a side issue throw in the advent of the Premier League and history started all over again.

Forest's attendances were in line with every other side sat the time.

Interesting also that when we played Newcastle at St James only 42,000 showed up to watch.............. :zipit:

Remember Everton away that year....we were packed like sardines.......And Chris Woods playing a blinder at Wembly in the League cup final.....And the Robo penalty that won it at Old Trafford........And the party after the draw at Coventry.....

Now that was a great season to be a Forest fan........

;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

It was Bob Wilson who started it, and Mills jumped on the bandwagon. Best abuse I've heard was for his visit that season :D

When we lost the game at Arenal on September the 3rd after winning the first three games everybody in the media were clattering to say the bubble had burst and to be honest I think most of our supporters believed it..............................................for about a week!!

Any way the rest is history but below is a picture of a few of us fans of to Munich a year or so later.

Uber cool or what?

Is that you second left in the black?

No. The one in black is Larry Lloyd the one in white is Ian Bowyer and the other rather attractive little minx is Kenny Burns who all (and this has always been a closely guarded secret which I am only telling you as I know you will not utter a word) travelled to the game in drag as the result of losing a late night drinking competition the night before.

And after the match about 3,000 of their fans were waiting at the train station for our coaches (Forest used to take a train everywhere in those days - the players shared the same train as the fans) - I was about 8 at the time scariest thing I can ever remember

We were on the coach stuck at some traffic lights and two fans were sat on the wall - the woman in front of me covered her Forest rosette and they just laughed shook their heads and mouthed "we are Liverpool"

Then they just pointed down the hill to the train station laughing and you could see all these Evertonians already waiting for us

We had one policeman on a motor bike as an escort at the front

I was pushed under a seat by someone as bricks hit windows from both sides as we drove into the station

They were dropping bricks on the train from bridges as we left as well

That was my first away match - over 30 years ago now but I can remember the fear when you saw them all waiting like it was yesterday

Not nice when you are 8

This was the game where Kenny Burns "accidentally sneezed" on the Arsenal player who tried to stand in front of him for a free kicklol

Pretty soon after the bubble burst was when we signed Shilton
