Alexander Cole Mighten

Since it's fashionable to have a double barreled surname in your squad these days, if Gibbs White or Maitland Niles don't work out, Cole Mighten has a nice ring to it!

With the current squad - Lolley bomb-squadded, Silva without a squad number - Mighten is potentially the primary back-up to Johnson and/or Lingard.
Unless we're adding reinforcements in that area, then I can imagine he'll get significant substitute action off the bat.

Haven't Blackpool got Appleton as manager now? If Mighten isn't going to be around the first team then playing under Appleton could be really good for him (Ala BJ)

Having watched the pre season clips, I'm sure he could be valuable as someone on the bench, coming on in virtually every match and showing us a few of his skills!

I’ve always been a fan of Mighten, he has all the tools to be a good player IMO, he just needs to keep working and put it all together.

Luckily he has a great manager to help him.

Mighten and Ojeda will both play for us this season

I've been impressed with Mighten so far this pre season. You can tell Cooper and co. have been working very hard with him. His cameo appearances in the 2nd half of last season were very encouraging compared to pre-cooper. I can see plenty of minutes (probably from the bench) for him this season.

I too am swaying more towards the idea of keeping Mighten and Ojeda around. May not be ready to start for us, but I certainly think they have something to offer as squad players/bench options.

They both look like they can offer something but would both also benefit from a full season of games. Tough situation but we probably need them to fill our squad out. They'll also improve training with the higher level of players we've brought in. Happy for both to stay here personally.

Mighten is better off playing in a full championship campaign for a mid/top tier team. If he could tear it up, it will help his value and self worth, who knows, maybe become a full USA international, tear it up in the championship and forest can demand 30 million for him next season

At risk of missing out on 30 million, I'd sooner keep him with us to work daily with better players and for the odd cameo. Time is very much on Mighten's side - we can develop him with us and send him out next year if need be - he'd still only be 21.

Liege would be a really good move if he could get regular starts.

I have to say, having looked up the Belgian top league after seeing this it's f***ing weird. It almost makes the split in the Scottish Prem look sane.

I thought he played well when he came on on Saturday.

He needs to take a leaf out of the Saint Maximim performance from Saturday. Mightens game needs to be about all out attack. He should be looking to take on the last defender every time and working on his end product when that comes off. He has the pace and trickery, just could do with a bit more weight so he bounces of challenges a bit better

Regular football will suit him well. And let's be honest, the Belgian top flight is lower level Championship. An excellent canvas for young Alex to impress. Hope he goes and finds his feet

Not sure I agree.

Pretty sure the likes of Genk, Antwerp, Anderlect (*spit*), Brugge, and Gent would have all finish top six minimum in the Championship last year.

Top half, I've no doubt. The rest of the league would struggle in League One... I'm just looking at a mean average of the league..

I think he needs to play at a higher level.
