So---for me anyways---the keeper is sorted. Move on. We need a strong mid to play deep alongside either Mangala or Yates. We can't play with those two on the field at the same time. Aina is obviously an excellent pickup and our flank issues appear to be fine, especially if Richards can come in shortly. Elanga and Brennan out on the flanks gives us a palpable level of danger for most sides. I honestly don't think we are far off being a mid table side. But that central mid , Sankare, Adams or whomever, is the most pressing need we have right now.

I love Awoniyi - the only negative is that if he stays fit and has the season I expect him to have, he'll have outgrown us by the end of the season. Enjoy him while you can.

WELL PLAYED NOTTINGHAM FOREST.

2-1 defeat away at Arsenal.... NO complaints from me.
There is from me

Cooper out
Johnson give him ta Brentford
MGW bang average

But most of all I’m blaming the coach driver …..he’s gotta be held accountable for finding the ground 😉

You suggested it was something Marinakis might be thinking halfway through the first game of the season. Clearly you think it's something he should be considering.

No!
I said that if things continue as they were over the first 45 minutes, and if we continued to be pointless/winless away from home, conceding >80% possession then I could envisage a scenario whereby EM may well consider taking action.
And I went on to say that if (IF!!!!) EM was going to act because of our lack of away points, he would probably be minded to do so.
Lasty season we achieved survival on the back of our home points tally, plus 7 points won in away games.
EM is unlikely to sit back and watch us put 0 away points on the board for too many games.
And when you say that:
Clearly you think it's something he should be considering
You are 100% accusing me of a thought crime which I did not commit.

Much better 2nd half. I appreciate we are playing a superior side technically, but I hate watching my team play the way we did first half. I would argue it doesn't even suit the players we have.

Give the players a bit of belief & freedom, and we can be a threat to any side with the pace we have.

You realise we got three points off them doing that about 3 months ago?

wouldn't mind a 3-4-3 next week with Elanga - Awoyini - BJ across the top. But really need a proper destroyer for that formation. With Sangare or Adams would sign up. Bring in 2 more quality CBs and I think we're set for now.

Better second half. We just look better with a proper striker and Taiwo is absolutely a proper striker. Beast.

Some stuff to take from the game and some to work on. We really need a bit of pace in that back 3. Very lucky to get away with a few towards the end when Boly looked like he was running through treacle, and he’s probably the quickest of the 3 at that.

Elanga did well and will get better. If we can somehow get just 2 or 3 real quality players in before the window slams shut, we should be mid table this year. Pacy CB, Sangare or similar in midfield. Gonna say it, Spence at right wing back would be awesome. Thought Serge was well off the pace today, wonder if he’s got one eye on a pay day in the desert

Yes, too early for must win.

We had 4 points after 8 matches last year, had an awesome run of form and were mid table, then a shit run. 38 games is a long season
With the away games to come hard on the heels of the Blunts game, and the Blunts being a team many expect to be in the bottom 3 come end of season, I think it is a "should win" game.
However, if we don't improve on our away points tally, we cannot afford to drop any points against Blunts.

Never happy after a loss but Arsenal‘s collective ring pieces were twitching like a bunny’s nose in the last 15 ……

Forest I’m proud of ya efforts today 😍

Much better in the second half and great to see that we can worry Arsenal.

I think the players we have are good enough to be more positive early in games.
More attacking threat, or a spell of possession would take the pressure off the defence.
